Both blatant lies and openly expressing anger when we know better are, to me, uncharacteristic of... well, Celestials in general, and especially such a trusted, 'high-ranking' one as Iku. Yes, even if no one else finds out. Because the Dragon would know. And so would the parser.

It's not lying. We are going to have the Island inhabitants harvest them, aren't we? And as long as we give some to Reimu, that counts as harvesting them for her. :3

So, what other plans do we have for getting the Youkai to not take all of our food?

Right now, this seems like the way to go(partially due to no other plans being mentioned), as it should work and isn't that much of a lie, if at all. We would be getting the peaches harvested, Reimu did beat Cirno and was about to beat us into submission, and we would bring some to Reimu when available which would keep her happy/not all that angry.

Suggest:
"We stopped fighting, but I'm not sure that was really a win or loss on either end. I told her what happened, and she's checking my story now. If all goes well, we won't have to finish the fight at all - I'd rather help her get things back to normal, anyway."
"These islands fell from the sky, though I'm not entirely sure why yet. I'm, uh, friends with the people that live there. We don't mean to hurt anyone or get in the way. Though I guess we can't entirely help the last part..."
"I don't think any of us really want to fight right now. And since the people there take care of the peach trees while the peaches grow, it's fairest for them to keep the peaches. But since the island's getting in the way right now, it'd probably be fair to give people a few to make up for that, as long as they're friendly."
"So if you don't fight with the people from the island, I'll see if I can ask them for a few peaches for you. Is that okay?"

Um, I have to admit I just plain don't understand the whole angle about Reimu being in charge of the peaches because she attacked us. She was mistaken, she flew off, and we're still in charge of the grove in any event. We already said everyone could have a couple if they really wanted, and I don't think there needs to be any more complications to the situation than that. In fact, that's what I was planning to land and tell the celestials in the grove: If anyone else shows up and asks, politely offer them a couple and avoid causing issues unless they do something more drastic.

Edit: Also, all of that seems essentially fine to me

>There are close to fifteen thousand on the island, according the estimates Lorelei gave you. You were expecting enough peaches to take care of the Dragon Palace's needs for a few months.

Welcome to "Gensokyo", Land of Misconceptions. "Illusion" is practically in the title.
I still don't see what we get by explaining to a cat word for word exactly what the truth of the matter is, when what I said summed it up pretty nicely.  Also, no one had to tell Reimu that all of the Peaches belonged to her.

The main problem with the way things have been going is that everyone's too interested in talking and laying down the truth so that we all come to a perfect 100% agreement and compromise between all parties. While normally this is ideal, we're trying to impliment this in a setting where people shoot millions of bullets at each other on a daily basis, and whoever isn't knocked over takes all of the spoils.

Reimu did step into a fight over the Peaches, and ultimately ended the combat by herself, in better shape than anyone else did. Those peaches really do belong to Reimu by the rites of Gensokyo's dueling rules, yet at the same time, we're given an opportunity to pick up what she didn't claim, while at the same time convincing others she has already staked claim. This would ultimately end all fighting over the peaches in our favor, and we would only have to have lost one bucket.

But I guess Chen is cute.

Reimu's fighting had nothing to do with the peaches one way or the other. She was convinced that the island's appearance was part of some scheme by us or Tenshi (or someone else, maybe) to causing some sort of trouble for Gensokyo. And she was going to beat us up just to make sure we couldn't cause trouble. I don't even know that she bothered to notice there were peaches on the island and she certainly didn't claim any of them. To be honest, I'm not really sure where you got the impression that the battle was over peaches in the first place >.>

>"I'd like you to spread that word that I'm permitting any visitors from Gensokyo to take a few peaches for themselves, if they choose, provided they remain polite. I don't expect enough people will take advantage of this to cause a problem, but we need to be able to peacefully co-exist with the surface until we're able to ascend once more. Please treat them with respect."

>"It seems the fighting has ended now."
>"We will have to make a few sacrifices for the sake of keeping the peace around here. should any of the youkai or humans from the surface land come to ask for some fruit, You will have to oblige them in a polite manor."
>"In the meantime, I will continue the search for Tenshi, and hopefully for the reason why these lands fell."

Cut: We were there to stop the youkai from taking the Peaches when Reimu cut in. She may never have realized it (and my intention was that she never would) but the fact is, there was a fight over the peaches, and Reimu is the only one that entered the fight that could be called the winner. The alternatives were to lose a ton of peaches (which we're going with now) or starting the fight back up again, which is a much worse option.

But forget it. I know we had this argument earlier in the thread, and I just wanted to give my piece now to vent from getting peachblocked.

Well, ownership of the peaches would depend on who technically owned them before the fight. If it was us, or some other higher Bhava-Agra figure, then they're still under their original ownership, as Reimu didn't technically beat any of those parties. If it was the celestial people in general, it's pretty arguable that she beat them.
