Ugh... Earth!Patchy. Anything Earth can do, Water can do better. (Except perhaps damage bosses, but really you shouldn't be using either of them for that)

My first non-ReimuA Normal 1cc featured a no-miss Orin fight, due in no small part to Mecha!Patchy's ability to do damage while the zombies were chasing me around the screen.

Ugh i hate those things...I lost 5 lives just on that spell card >.< (using ReimuA)

I hate....I forget the name. The one where spike bullets appear and fall down the screen virtually everywhere, and orin tosses 5ish white spinning circle-thingies at you. I hate it because I absolutely CANNOT recognize each individual spinning white bullet thingie until it's nearly at the bottom of the screen alrady. So I have no clue where the "safe" area between each volley is until it's already too late to really move accordingly.

Also, anybody else find that Utsuho's second last spellcard is easier on hard than normal? Not just because the bullets sit around for longer, but once they are actually in danger range, they are easier to dodge anyway? It seems like you have more time to breath between waves or something, and the waves themselves are NOT any more dense to compensate. (though they have a slight curve it doesn't throw me off the slightest).

Erm, what?  Water and earth are extremely different shottypes with completely different purposes.

...though I've yet to see the purpose to earth, considering wood outdamages it while simultaneously being easier to use, and in the instances that stuff attacks you from behind they usually come out from both sides of the screen, making metal preferable.  Parsee's last card is really the only situation I can think of where earth is useful.

It's usually just called "Ghost Wheels", the actual name (especially on Lunatic) is pretty long.
Cheating? I cannot even wrap my head around the point of it. Wouldn't you know you had cheated? How on Earth could you maintain crisp certainty of your superiority to all others? And if you're unable to do that, what's the point of anything?

The Ghost Wheels, right? Each formation is aimed at you when it spawns, and the spaces between the wheels always remain the same size (so the distance you must move doesn't change either). You must first become familiar with how often they spawn (what difficulty are you talking about, by the way?), then you must keep track of where you are when they do spawn. That way you'll know roughly how far over you need to move, at which point you navigate through the smaller bullets. It's like a mix of macro- and micro-dodging really.

Eh? *double-checks the wiki* Oh wow. All this time, I've had Earth and Metal mixed up. Yeah, I meant Metal!Patchy. It's visually impressive, granted, but I can't see that it has any advantage over Water. Meanwhile, Water has you sitting safely at the bottom of the screen.

Wow, so Metal is useless, and Earth is my lord and savior. Huh. This' gonna take some getting used to.

Wasn't metal the sideways shot?

That thing owns stage 2. And ReimuC can do the same thing with her options.

Thing is, though, Water can do the exact same thing, and you don't have to worry about being on the wrong line or anything. Just looking at that video, he's adjusting his position in preparation for just about every wave; Water, you just sit at the bottom and everything dies. Much simpler.

Yeah, but you won't be sitting nicely on the auto-collection point while you kill everything if you're using water at the bottom :3

Plus metal does more damage and hits both sides with a fairly focused shot, while also hitting both in front of and behind you.

In order of my elemental usage when using MarisaB, it probably looks something like this:

1. Wood
2. Fire
3. Metal
4. Water
5. Earth

Did it another time with Reimu A and didn't make it to Satori
