Hmm.

Just to be slightly less alienating, and save a little bit of time.

Essentially, I'm just starting to feel bad about continually giving Renko 'sorry, you'll have to trust me' answers to every question she asks. We've done about 3 in a row, now. And given the nature of their relationship, that just feels, well... not all that trusting.

There's a lot of hurt feelings going around, and Okuu's come in for more than her fair share of them, in my opinion. Satori's sister... Okuu's aunt, really, considers her a traitor to both her and Satori for her role in fixing history. She never wants to see her ever again. But... she may be willing to speak with Satori. I want to make that happen. They've been estranged for a long time."

In case you'd forgotten, there's a good chance Patchouli never saw us do it. When we used it against the statue, we were probably far enough away to be out of sight from her position.

Renko's already expressed curiosity at least twice. The question will come up again eventually. I want to control the environment in which we answer it, and while this isn't the best one, it's a more-than-acceptable alternative.

Cut by Draco: Patchy's a smart girl, she'll figure things out.

The only thing I'd want to make sure is that Hatate doesn't overhear it. We don't need an exclusive scoop on our time powers. (Otherwise Sakuya is going to show us her knife collection.)

I'm still very wary of discussing it with others at this point, but I do want to point out - Byakuren could tell that we had time magic affinity, which implies that the concept, at least, is not completely foreign. Sakuya's gift/curse might be more common than she realizes... might. Patchouli probably knows just as much, and would have discussed it with her. Unless time manipulation mostly died out over the past thousand years...

But a better route for that would be to ask Byakuren what she knows about time magic (excuse - to understand our own abilities), then consider speaking with Sakuya about the results of that, whether it's to allow us to open up about our power or to help her understand whether it's as bad as she thinks.

Regardless of commonality, Sakuya made it pretty damn clear she wanted this kept private. Alice, Hatate and the fairies all saw us do what we did; it's non-trivially possible what we did will make its way back to Sakuya. This is why I want to do this now, while Patchouli is around; she can report our explanation back to Sakuya.
