>Nod. "I suppose, then, it's back to the outside."

>Mokou sighs, then shrugs. "Suppose I shouldn't be surprised."
>"What do you intend to do there then?" Ran asks. "Well, I suppose I can infer the intended goals, but in terms of how we go about achieving them?"

>"If my sister is still with her," Mugetsu says. "I'll know. But I don't know that I could help her. She would have already left if she could. Something else is wrong. I'm sure of it."

>Ran frowns. "Judging by what you did, I imagine it would be simple enough for you to leave and re-enter. But it took a great deal more effort and circumstance for you to enable myself to cross the barrier. Are you even capable of this in your current form? Anchor or no?"

>What was it about Ran that had to be done to get her out, again?

We brought Chen to near that barrier-thing, stepped through, called Ran over, had a part of ourself on each side and pulled Ran through.

Beyond the purely physical aspects, at least.

> Give Mugetsu another little hug. "Every thing is going to be fine. We're going to find a way to get your Sister back."

>You give Mugetsu a hug. She seems a little startled by it, and doesn't really return it, but doesn't try to break away, either. "...I hope so," she says. "And thank you. I... didn't really expect this from others."

>What was it about Ran that had to be done to get her out, again?

>Something about your nature, or how history has changed around you allowed you to walk between the two histories that were spliced at the barrier around Yukari's home. Ran, however, was firmly anchored to the one inside. You used her bond with Chen, anchored to the outside history, to weave their histories together again. Ran is now firmly anchored outside, and cannot return until whatever effect that created the barrier in the first place is removed. Without being in hakutaku form, and having something to anchor Mugetsu to the inside reality, it is unlikely she could pass through.

>It would need to be something strongly affixed to that timeline. The trick being that such a thing would likely be difficult to get inside, as well. It may not be impossible, however.

>Lead on toward Yukariheim.

>You leave the crater and head southwest to the even larger one containing Yukari's home. The pillar of energy is again visible as soon as you skirt the hills that surround it. Mugetsu frowns uncertainly as you approach. Ran's expression is hard to read. You move to within a few feet of the barrier and then stop.

>"How strange," Mugetsu says. "I feel nothing at all from it."
>You touch the column. It feels... more solid than it did the last time you did that. You might still be able to push yourself through, but it would take more effort to do so.
>Mugetsu puts her hand on it. "I still feel nothing. Just cold and void."

>Unfortunately, you do not think so. You don't know that it would be possible without some sort of more tangible connection, even if the moon were full. You are fairly certain it will be impossible without it.
