Main Website Here~I was playing earlier today and ran across someone with the username 'Formless', which immediately made me think 'Formless God' followed by 'Why haven't I made a thread in Akyuu's Arcade yet?'.
If you subscribed to my Youtube channel you've probably seen a video of this! It attracts a lot of Starcraft/Ha ha, old chap!/HoN/DotA players since it's marketed as a largely-competitive and skill-based game.
There's basically 16 bloodlines divided up between Melee, Ranged, Healer, Tank. Each with a variety of abilities mapped to your mouse buttons, Q, E, R, Spacebar and F. It's almost entirely about aiming and positioning - your skills are useless if you don't actually aim and hit your enemies, and you gain a 20% damage bonus if you hit them from behind. There's a lot of escape, snare and forced movement abilities to make it interesting. It's essentially a 3v3 (anywhere from 1v1 to 5v5, though) PvP game. You pick your bloodlines, a map, and try and kill your enemies before they kill you.
The healing mechanic isn't a full-on deal - you can only be healed up by 40% of your maximum health. So if you're at 25% of your health, the highest you can be healed (by normal means) is up to 65% of your games, preventing any excessively long games from occurring. Then again, so does the instadeath timeout fog.
Each bloodline has an ultimate ability mapped to their F-key that can only be used when they reach 100% energy. You gain energy by successfully landing attacks/heals.
There's a lot of other interesting mechanics, too - jumps, pulls, position swaps, projectile reflection, spellblock, stealth, blindness.
So, I'm curious - is anyone else playing? I play with a bunch of friends, and we all run around with various Touhou names. Say hi!
If you're interested in playing (and are a trusted forumgoer!) I can totally send you a keta bey! ( :V google search) At the time of posting, I've got three on me.
I should note that the developers are based somewhere in Northern Europe, making this game one of the few (in my experience) that's actually more friendly to Europeans in terms of playtimes/latency than it is Americans. The game's still plenty playable. SEA and Oceania players are still thrown under the bus, though.
