Sure enough as soon as she stepped outside she saw two elephants being held back by an impromptu fortification created by Joan and Ruby.  Sakaki was frantically building a second wall for fire support, and Elminia was shuttling ammunition to the two frontline devils.

Yuki sighed and set one of the elephants on fire.  Which for some reason caused it's friend to catch fire as well.  She became concearned when the barracades caught fire but fortunately Mai arrived to put them out.  As the elephants succumbed to the flames Yuki moved to speak to Ruby.

"Explain."

Ruby looked up at her.  "I'm sorry miss Yuki!  I dug too high and awakened the terror that helped drive the dwarves from the fortress!  The terrifying elephants that killed so many!"

Yuki sighed again.  "Fun, eh?  Well they're gone now right?"

Joan shook her head.  "I fear that was only the first wave."

Yuki rolled her eyes.  "Elle!  Take a note!  When I achieve ultimate power I will destroy the world our gem mine is in!"

"Before or after we find a new mine Miss Yuki?" asked the devil.

"After."  Yuki then turned to Mai.  "I know how to handle this.  Keep freezing them while I prep the spell that'll flood the place with lava.  It shouldn't take too long...."
Event:Elephants attacked.  However your devils held them off long enough for you to use "Operation: Fuck that World."  You gained 21 notoriety and 5 morale.

But seriously.  Elephants?

Fight Crime - Mai.  This weeks event is canceled and reduces notoriety.  Mai and Yuki may be injured.

Cast Foundation, cast Create Gem twice, then buy the rest of the needed gems to build the Artificer Forge. And then build it.

Edit:Woah it said 82 gems or so a minute ago, not 68 ;_; scratch that, build Outdoor Baths and cast Create Gems 7 times.

Optional: Also have Elle and Eskarina assist in that research, the latter for the actual knowledge and the former for keeping our notes organized properly. (This assumes Eskarina isn't a part of the research process by default.)

Artificer's Forge looks to be more useful than the Expanded Atelier, and we have all the materials necessary for it as well.

Not necessarily; for example, with the Artificer's Forge, Dig will save us 10 Iron for 30 Mana. But if we cast Create Gem and Gem to Iron with that 30 mana instead,  we'd get 20 Iron instead of only saving 10!

And yes, build the Artificer's Forge.

Build the forge and like Purvis said, try to arrange for a trip to get Apophis some new architectural ideas.

What should we do about Elspeth?  Maybe have her work in the restaurant for a bit?

Also, research Metal Mastery and get Mai on Water Mastery.

Suggestion: We have a lot of money. I suggest giving it to certain succubi in 500 golds lots and telling them to go nuts with it within the realms of their chosen crafts. For instance, give Kirala 500 golds and telling her to make something neato. Or Chou 500 golds and telling her to cook up a storm.

For extra joy, allow them use of Hibachi to get the most out of their golds.

Though in Hibachi's case, I imagine this would be a good way to level her up. Give her 500 golds and tell her to go try some things, see what happens. Let her learn through experience.

Mai is an Ice mage, so she receives a bonus to water studies.  However spells have no intrinsic value until you finish researching them so....

$500 is a lot of money to the average person.  To give an idea of scale, your mansion is already bigger then the SDM (or it would be were it not for time/space hax).  While Kirala and Hibachi can definitely spend all of it, Chou's going to have to go 'kitchen stadium' or 'cakes with actual gold leaf' to blow it all in a week.

If 7, maybe we should drop the Cooks $500 spending-fest. Between the Cook and, say, Apophis, we benefit far more from a level to Apophis(reduced building cost) then to the Cook(more income, lower rate of bored Devils).

Or initial Time Limit on the Research for Patchy was the stuff we finished a while ago, correct? Did Patchy get our research stuff, or have we yet to hand it in?

Yeah, that's the point. Have a shitload of money to go nuts with. In the case of Chou, I would expect crazy fancy things "we fed this duck nothing but healing potions" style stuff.

Nooo, do not cast Dig. It would be inefficient. We'd spend 30 mana to save 10 iron when we could instead cast Create Gem+GemtoIron for 30 mana and create 20 iron.
 
So, cast Create Gem twice, and then... Gem to something.

Yuki: "Ah ha!  This is the spell matrix I'd need to use to duplicate Patchouli's Philosopher's Stone!  Of course I'd need the other 4 elements as well, then find a way to tie them together.  But then I'd be able to turn lead into gold.  And boost my magic."

The firestorm was insane.  Yuki was amazed that they'd managed to hold it at bay so well.

Mai's ice had melted away long ago, but she was creating cold water for the massive pump and hose array Eskarina had brought out.  Meanwhile Joan and Elspeth were helping Heather get the livestock to safety, while Alouette directed Elminia and Ruby to put out the smaller fires that moved into the area.

Yuki closed her eyes and felt the flames.  It seemed like they were starting to subside a little.  Or at least move on.  These walls of wood resisted their hunger like iron.  It was time for the fire to leave.

Feeling that she could safely leave the defense of the manor to her familiars she moved inside, where another minor issue awaited.

In the lobby were the foolish resturant customers who had decided to visit here despite the blaze, and those people living nearby that didn't have magically reinforced homes with moats to protect them.  Currently Chou and Hibachi were keeping order.

Yuki wanted to help her neighbors out, if for no other reason then to keep them from needing to steal from her.  But the fools who'd come here for a bite to eat should probably be fleeced for all they were worth.  Of course Hibachi was good at that.  All Yuki needed to do was seperate the two groups...
Event:
Firestorm outside!  The moat and walls, in addition to your enchantments prevented the blaze from damaging your home.
Repairs to your fields and aqueduct cost $221.  Gained 10 notoriety
This weeks work caused 7 stress.
"Shotglass" is restless.

Cure Devil - 30 mana - Heals a Devil of any physical condition. Removing Death costs 5 gems more.
Dig - 30 mana - Decreases building costs by 10 wood and iron.  Usable once per structure.
Create Foundation - 100 mana - Increase building discount by 5%
Enhance Devil - 50 mana - Doubles Devils effectiveness at the cost of a week of exhaustion.
Devil Trigger - 200 mana - Doubles Devils effectiveness
Demonic Summoning - 50 mana - +1 special action.  Activated devils can act again.
Empower Gem - 1 gem 100 mana - Gives you 50 mana to use later.
Money Tree - 1 gem, 5 mana - Ads 5 income
Planar Portal - 10 gems 50 mana or 15 gems 100 mana - Creates a portal to a location inside/outside of Makai.

Special Actions - Maximum 7 - Limit one per devil/magician
Stress Relief - Helepolis.  Removes d10+5 stress.
Grind levels - Ruby.  Helps (slowly but safely) level Ruby and gets random drops.
Dance Party - Requires Dancer, Bartender.  Devils do not become bored at the end of the week. 

 Morale may be gained, and stress may be gained or lost depending on RNG.  This party costs d4

* 4d10 in cash.  Butler can decrease the multiplier.
Forge Tool - Ferra.  Once per devil spend $1000 and 5 gems to gain a level.
Fight Crime - Mai.  This weeks event is canceled and reduces notoriety.  Mai and Yuki may be

injured.

Suggest smashing the eye instead of using it, I don't think we're in that dire need of defense.

Level Sakaki or Ferra first? Leaning Sakaki even with the iron market crash.

Level Kirala with the special ability. The gain in wood/iron we can get from transmuting the additional gems is likely bigger then the bonus we'd get from directly boosting wood/iron production. Then again, we might start getting into surpluses of gems soon, and we can only transmute 15 per turn at most... for now.

Okay, don't level Kirala. Level whichever devil makes Wood. Sakaki, I think?

Research Fire Mastery, have Mai and Eskarina research Water Mastery!

Edit:Oh, transmute gems to wood is only 5 mana, not 10! Level Kirala. Definitely.

How much is our Noterity affect the price of Wood? Like, what would it cost to buy if we had 0 Noterity rather then our current amount?

Yep.  That's one of the things the spell exists for.

The succubi all default to female.  It's their preferred form.
