Who were the first Touhou characters you met?

For me, I discovered the series four years ago while bored and looking for something to play. I came across the doujin game Super Marisa World. So Marisa Kirisame and Cirno were the very first Touhou characters I came to know. Ran was next, and she became my favorite character. I didn't even know about the existence of Reimu until MUCH MUCH later. Actually, I don't even know when I discovered Reimu..,.

The Eientei Crowd. Then Alice and Marisa (plus Reimu, patchy, and the Prismrivers)

The whole first three stages of SDM and reimu.... god... I was realy that bad then, but to be honest I was always a Cirno fan before I met her.

Alice, since she's the poster girl of the Wiki. But the first one I've 'properly' met would arguably be Flandre.

Before I ever knew what Touhou was, back when I was such a bored person I watched MUGEN videos, I saw footage of a broken Patchouli character and a boss/joke character labeled "drunken loli" (guess who that was). The first character I met who I knew to be from Touhou was Cirno, watching Odenpa Love Girl.

Actually, I think I might have seen a picture of Youmu before without knowing who she was. Also Suika to some extent, since I only heard the song Tsurupettan and didn't watch the actual video until much later. Marisa and Alice, too, because of Marisa Stole the Precious thing.

When I knew what Touhou was, it was Cirno.

Very first Touhou I saw was Marisa in a MUGEN video. The first Touhous that I saw in actual Touhou footage were Ran and Yukari. Ran was my first favorite Touhou character. Her art was so adorable~

EoSD actually, I don't remember seeing anything even remotely connected to touhou before then. Also, take notes that back then I was so bad at the game, I continued at meiling's mid-boss card, on easy, and didn't even know what "focus" was or how to activate it :V

In order: Marisa, Remilia, Patchouli, Meiling, Sakuya. Patchouli and Remi were the two that got me interested.

Alice, from the Wiki. Then I closed that tab because Touhou didn't seem like anything interesting to me.
It was only a while later that I found Touhou again, found the Wiki again, and realized it was the same one. :U

Besides that, I think the first character I truly met was Reimu.

I watched the 'Nyan roll rock remix' video on youtube, a good year before I learned about touhou. I just thought it was a random cat girl some one drew because it fitted better than the green hair girl to the nyan nyan thingie.
Ran was also in that vid, but I only realised that a few months ago.

It must have been Marisa in some way.
But the first characters I met and could recgonise as Touhou characters were Flandre, Remilia, Yukari, Rumia, Patchy and Komachi.

A friend of mine bought the game and showed it to me, he let me practice Stage two of Cherry blossom.

Utsohu, or whatever her name is from the final stage of SA. Of course, Touhou didn't mean anything to me back then, so I could also say Yuyuko, as her theme was what brought me to the series. Although it wasn't until after I'd played Mystic Square that I showed any kind of favoritism, which in my case went towards Marisa for her awesome power, and Alice for the awesome stage 3 boss.

Cirno was the VERY first character I got acquainted with. Even before I knew what Touhou itself was (or who Cirno was, for that matter), I was addicted to remixes of Cirno's theme, Cirno's Perfect Math Class (and videos of hundreds of Japanese otakus dancing to it), and the Chirumiru commercial. Through her, I eventually became interested in the Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil. After looking through EoSD itself more closely, I quickly became interested in Flandre, who to this day remains one of my favorite characters (I have so many favorites now, it's hard for me to name just one). Once I met her, I made it my goal to one day be able to meet her.

Of course, I eventually did. :3
