Halo Wars

So, does anyone like the concept of Halo Wars? I know I do!

By the way, does anyone want to play it with me online?

Haha, what.
Haha, don't be skeptical.  Halo Wars beats any PC RTS any day.  This game couldn't possibly work the same on a computer!  It was brilliantly crafted in terms of controls in my opinion.

Ah hah hah no. Halo Wars is good, but it isn't better than every PC RTS ever.

...Um...

Well... Whatever you say.

RTSes are far clunkier on a console and no amount of refinement could make a console RTS superior to a PC RTS in terms of control.

EndWar had a good idea for console RTS. But yeah, keep this genre on PC where it belongs.

I never played many RTS anyway, just the WarCraft and StarCraft games. And WarCraft III was worse in many ways than  WarCraft II, though it was a hell of a lot better in others, and StarCraft II is worse than the first StarCraft(from what I played in the beta cause I'm not buying it).

The worst part about me deciding not to get StarCraft II after trying the beta and finding out some of the stuff about it,
Spoiler:
StarCraft II was the main reason I got this new computer because the old one wouldn't run it. At least I can play and record shmups on it

No, it's reserved for people who don't use it in every post.

Which is to say, everyone except this joker.

No it doesn't.

Yes it could.

Touching gloss over a clunky mess doesn't make it any less of a clunky mess.

You could not be more right about the joker part ......  I promise you that I'll make this right.....

Back on the topic, wow.  This is a rather passionate forum, isn't it?  Well, I guess you could call me a Halo fanboy,  :).

Now, um, does anyone that own this want to play me?  When it comes to this game, I've only won once online, and that was with two partners, so if you care to play me, you have nothing to lose.

Protip:
Don't ever call a game the best at it's genre. There is no game that is the best, they all have different flaws and playstyles. Plus, you'll just end up pissing off a lot of people. If this were another forum, the reactions you would've gotten would have been much worse.

Ontopic:
I played the Halo Wars demo before the release. I wanted to try it out since I never played an RTS before because I didn't have a computer good enough for games back then. It was fun, but I never ended up buying it. One thing I did find annoying was the Prophet rush, having a hero that can warp in one of the strongest infantry unit at the start of battle is not good for balance. I wonder if they changed that.

Actually, that was the least of online people's worries.  Basically, as far as most online matches go, if you're human, you rush to get as many Warthogs as possible.  If you're the Covenant, you rush to get as many Banshees as possible.  It gets very annoying that everyone wants to copy everyone.  So, you could basically say that what you were talking about became more of a side strategy.

First time I played RTS on an console was Red Alert 1 on the PS. It sucked, hard.

Shooting games, RTS and MMOs with precision are meant to be controlled with a keyboard and a mouse. Period, the end. No discussion possible.

(or you connect an usb mouse and keyboard, but it is rarely supported so it fails)

Edit:

Oh yea, Halo Wars. Is that some anime?

Actually,  the PS3 natively supports keyboard and mouse, and the Xbox 360 supports a mouse, but there's no point in playing on a console if you want to use mouse and keyboard :|
Huh. Everything I've heard says that while there's a mouse and keyboard available for either system, the developer guidelines say that you're not allowed to actually use them for ingame control.

The bright side about a console RTS.  If you can manage to win against a pro on a PC while simultaneously gimping yourself with a controller, that's serious bragging rights right there.  I mean, shit, that's gotta be a lifetime achievement or something.  Imagine how much attention someone would get if they beat Boxer in SC using a controller.
