>"More or less. I know it's possible to siphon off another source of energy, and use it to change your own, or some such."
> "Well, it's a little complicated to explain, but I'll do my best. Get comfortable."
> "OK, so you already know that the use of magic is not limited solely to magicians right? A magician is someone who specializes in studying and practicing all kinds of magic, but anyone can utilize magic. The biggest issue for the use of magic is how much energy one is able to expend to perform it. You could call it "chi" if it helps you picture it, but this energy is more tangible than that. With me so far?"
> "So then, drawing on an outside power source provides you with far more energy to work with. Youkai are basically an extension of nature, so not only is it easier for them to tap into their magical abilities but they can draw magic from the world around them, and have more options that humans could never tap into. For example, Mystia can use the power of song, darkness and other birds while Wriggle can siphon power from other bugs. It sounds complicated but to them it's totally natural. On the other hand, we humans have to use more abstract concepts to tap into, since we can't connect to the physical world to the same degree as the youkai, but at the same time we have to tap into something that can be proven. Example: I use the power of emotions, love in particular, while Reimu and Sanae harness faith. They can explain what they do better, because it's out of my league."
> She digs around in her pocket and produces a tiny box, holding it out towards you.
> "I also use this, call it Hakkero Reactor. Essentially, I can run my powers through it and it boosts them to obscene levels, using the same powers I do." She puts it away.
> "Now, the biggest issue is obtaining this potential. You've already tapped into your magic potential, hence why you can produce shots, a lot of people can't make it to or past that stage. To find a source you have two options: the first is to search until you find something, like the wind for example, that you can harness. Once you can harness something, you can practice and train your body to work with this force and eventually accept it. Once you can accept it, you can utilize the energy it provides to become more powerful. Problem is that it takes years and lots of dedication to reach that level."
> She leans forward. "The other option is to force an unlock. Basically, you'd need someone who is incredibly powerful and willing to help. From there, it's just an overload of power, as in you allow your body to be filled with energy from the other person's source until it completely overruns your body and forces you to adapt to that power source. On paper it appears to be a sound theory, but I've never tried it personally, I don't know who has."
> She leans back and sighs. "Yeah, it's a little complicated and I'm not used to explaining. Anything you need clarified?"
