>Ascend away from the tries, and hopefully them danmakus.

>You sidestep between the incoming waves of danmaku and take to the air. As you slip between the stationary blue bullets, they suddenly begin to move again. One clips you in the leg, but you grit your teeth silently, and keep flying. You're nearly above the trees, now.

>"Well, you'll be telling me all of it anyways, so you might as well get to it before you're all sore."

>Mystia laughs. "Now, that's a little more satisfying. But the night is my time."
>More waves of green bullets and familiars fly at you from the trees

>How much does firing (or ordering familiars to fire) affect our maneuverability, or ability to discern patterns?
>Regardless, try to slip between the green shots if they're still coming in columns, and snipe the familiars with we can.

>Has the change in distance affected our perception at all?

>It may have made a little difference, but not a great deal. On the other hand, you haven't moved a great deal further from her. You can still see, but things are dim and hazy and you feel a bit dizzy.

>Can we destroy familiars?

>Some are tougher than others, but this is definitely possible

>How much does firing (or ordering familiars to fire) affect our maneuverability, or ability to discern patterns?

>Many of your techniques require a fair amount of concentration to control your familiars, and significantly hamper your ability to make quick aerial movements. However, you are still capable of shifting while maintaining the pattern. The interlocking pattern of bullets can partially obscure incoming bullets, but this should probably only be an issue for close range or chaotic attacks. So far, Mystia's attacks have been fairly easy to read.

>Regardless, try to slip between the green shots if they're still coming in columns, and snipe the familiars with we can.

>You shift between the next waves of green shots, and bullets from your familiars tear a swath through the incoming familiars. It seems these are rather fragile. Most of the ones headed directly for you are destroyed, although some survived on either side of you, laying down dense trails of lazily drifting blue bullets.

>You pull backwards through the gap between the bullets left by Mystia's familiars. After a few feet, the trails of blue bullets suddenly scatter in all directions. You think you can see another green wave incoming, at a distance.

>Can we hear any sign of Mystia flying about?
>Have the familiars do their thing and flak up the air a bit in the direction of the green stuff and around it. When the green shots get too close, slip between the columns.

>Can we hear any sign of Mystia flying about?

>No. It looks like the shots are still coming from the trees. She seems to be taking advantage of the fact that her shots are better able to penetrate the tree cover than yours are.

>Have the familiars do their thing and flak up the air a bit in the direction of the green stuff and around it. When the green shots get too close, slip between the columns.

>You continue firing with your familiars and disrupt the next wave of familiars even more fully than the previous one.
>You shift between the columns of bullets, but some of the blue spheres from the last familiar wave are perilously close to you, now. Many of them scattered harmlessly away, but others flew in your general direction, and it's hard to read where all of them were going.

>Fly away from the source of the shots; try not to fly into anything we've already dodged.

>Fly away from the source of the shots; try not to fly into anything we've already dodged.

>After goading Mystia, you turn and fly in the opposite direction. Most of the blue spheres fly harmlessly past you, and you slip around a few more that come close. However, with all the bullets in the air, one manages to slip in past your peripheral vision and clip your shoulder rather solidly. You try not to be too audible about this.
>"Hey!" you hear Mystia cry.

>Do keep an eye out behind for any new shots, too, especially if they come from an angle that suggests she's left the trees.

>You think you may see some more waves of green from the trees, although you can probably be past their effective range soon, if you stop firing and dash. The bullets from the second wave of familiars is starting to move, although these are somewhat further away from you than the first wave's were.

>The familiars fire behind us, right?

>You can be somewhat selective about this if you wish to, but they are capable of providing an equal amount of fire in any direction

>You stop firing and move as quickly as you can away from the shots. You slip between the incoming green waves, and are well past the residual blue ones when they scatter. It should be pretty impossible for her to hit you from this distance, now. Your vision seems to be clearing a bit, too.

>You soon see a form fly out from the trees and take to the sky after you. It's hard to make out at this distance, but it's probably Mystia.
>"Running back to Kanako, are you? Don't think you can get away just like that!"

>You slow down, and keep your eyes peeled for suddenly incoming bullets. At least you can still hear them, a little.

>"Is this so I can't see you run away?"

>Mystia just seems to screech a little in frustration. You can hear more shots being fired, from closer now. You can get a very rough sense of where she is from the noise.

>Listen for them, then when they are visible, move!

>You see two familiars enter your field of vision, one at the far extent of your sight to the left, and another very close to your right. You shift away from the one next to you. They leave a trail of small blue shots which split into a burst of red arrows and converge on you. It's fairly simple to evade the ones near you, although more clusters of them appears to be flying at you from the edge of your sight range, and you can hear more familiars incoming.

>"If it's a joke, I don't get it."

>Go through one more cycle of this, to get comfortable with it. Then open fire.

>You find a spot to slip between the incoming arrow clusters. Fortunately they're not moving very fast. Then another set of familiars passes you by. Since these were shot at closer range the angle between them is much narrower than before. It's easy enough to dodge the familiars themselves, but the arrow clusters are becoming more claustrophobic. Still you manage to scrape through them.
>Deciding that she's probably close enough now, and you have a window before the next wave, you open fire. Your familiars spray bullets towards Mystia's direction, and you add a few shots of your own. You don't hear any sounds of impact yet, though.

>She laughs. "I know you're firing blind over there. But I can still see you easily. How much closer do you think I need to get before you run out of room to slip past, hey?" You hear the sound of more shots being fired.

>You try to direct your shots towards where Mystia's voice seems to be coming from.
>Another wave of familiars flies in. These seem to be sturdier than the ones she was sending with her last attack, although you do manage to destroy a couple before they pass by you. Still, there's a lot of arrows to dodge.

>"I'm sorry, all I hear is:

>She screeches again, shrill enough to make you want to cover your ears. "You're just digging yourself a deeper grave!" she adds, mercifully lower-pitched.

>Try to slip between gaps to get some horizontal motion going and spread the bullets around, do so by slipping between the red arrows when the opportunity presents itself. Take it easy, though. Let her whip herself into more of a tizzy and get sloppy while we stay on defense.
>"Digging a grave? Should you be talking about things you can't spell?"

>You take advantage of the openings created by the destruction of Mystia's familiars to shift horizontally and add a little more complexity to your bullet patterns. You can probably keep up dodging an attack of this level for a while. You hope that you can provoke her into a mistake before that.

>Throw some more of them danmakus at her, while she is apparently distracted.

>You fire some more danmaku at her and are rewarded with a small cry of pain. And another. A few more shots fly your way, but end up pretty wide of you, and you have no trouble evading them.

>"What was that? I couldn't hear you over you not being able to spell."

>Mystia doesn't respond, although you can hear her grumbling angrily.

>Keep up the fireworks. If she's firing less, move more to spread the love.
>Hope, if Rumia's out there getting involved as it sounds like, it won't hit her.

>You pour out more danmaku. There are definitely far fewer things coming in your direction, so dodging is relatively trivial, now.
>You hope that you can avoid hitting Rumia, if Mystia's reaction was indeed to her, but you can't even really tell where she is at the moment. For that matter, you aren't certain if Mystia got hit by your danmaku earlier or hers.

>You hear a few more shots hit Mystia, and then a small yelp from Rumia. Hopefully that wasn't from one of yours. And then the spellcard breaks, and you can see Mystia again. Or, rather, you can see the large globe of darkness where Mystia's voice was coming from.
