jesus isn't the game hard enough with the pods ugh ruldra is insane
I'd think that half the difficulty with that would be not accidentally picking up a pod along the way.  Those things stay on the screen freaking forever.

I've been playing RFJ a lot the last few days.  I'm trying to actually learn the scoring system this time since on SotW I was pretty much survival-playing all the way through.  Anyone know how to trigger that group of fairies at the sliding platform thing in sim 05?  I've only done it once.

Go from left to right on it. right to left works also, I think. Unlike other Fairies, these ones will not drop a bomb if you wait long enough. You can't destroy it until after the fairies appear.

pods block enemy bullets (not lasers, flamethrowers or missiles, though) and give you additional firepower (I prefer the Homing missiles, because they allow you to kill enemies which aren't aligned with you, before they can threaten you or help overwhelm you), however, they help increase rank (I heard that the fixed pods do increase rank faster). Still, playing without pods (and dodging them :p) is quite a challenge, though fortunately, not the only

way to score well.. (I'm fine with starting to use pods on stage 4 or later)

The fairies from Sim 05 will appear if you "paint" the scaffold with your ship, as mentioned here. Scoring is rather simple to understand, not as easy to perform, though, but is fun, as long as you can make things go according to keikaku (translator note: keikaku means plan); chain messages to multiply the value of the next messages, don't lose the medal chain (DX Medal value is increased in increments of 10k up to 100k, each time you collect all DX Medals on the screen), you can't save it like in Garegga/Batrider if you miss one (the onscreen medals will still retain their value, but the next ones will be reset to 10k), understand how to activate the messages ( "quick shot" means that you destroyed an enemy/part before it could attack you, and sometimes you can seal enemy bullets like in Batrider/Garegga specifically for the purpose of getting a Quick Shot message). I'd recommend watching NER's replay on super-play.co.uk , or I can get a video of him playing, on nico (it's the same video, but divided in 3 parts.. quite hard for me to find, because there's quite a lot of RFJ videos)
neku: now for something important.

How much time do you guys think it will take for HM to be translated? Besides everyone's story modes and the whole menus, there's also the fact that the way HM's programmed is different from all other games. I bet it'll take two months.

TSS is fun; I felt guilty about the slowdown caused by a load of things occurring simultaneously during certain Stages... until the game decides not to induce the slowdown effect as much during Memory which knocked myself off balance. This has happened 3 times now. Not rage inducing for some reason! What is however, is the damn food, especially that hot dog. More often than not, I can't pull off those ridiculous 30+ chains either  :<
On the plus side, I can pull off perfect chains off most waves which makes me feel all giddy inside. I see no problem with the colour scheme, save for that hot dog; it is the only thing I have difficulty seeing.

In unrelated news:

hurr

Can't find any Chitta advice / replays anywhere for me to copy and kick ass dammit so I had to use my own knowledge trial and error to work stuff out  >:|
That said, is it just me or is bombing the flamingos just not worth it with Chitta? I'm getting only a few hundred k here at best compared with the other ships where I can effortlessly pull off 1-1.5mil.
Spoiler:
Dropped my medal chain just before the gunblimps in Base, i.e. the stage you see there. Rage ensued
.

I just game over'd on Ketsui at Evaccania, with 97.9m, and two bombs in stock, after dying twice on Stage 3 and missing the Stage 5 extend. ;____; I must get 100m goddamnit.

EDIT: Finally. The run was looking kind of dodgy with four misses on the first four stages, but then out of nowhere I 1-missed the entirety of Stage 5 and 1cc'd with a life left over, hitting 108m. :dragonforce:

Entering Tsuujou still looks pretty far off, let alone Ura, but we'll burn that bridge when we get to it~

Long overduo:

Still somehow made it after stage 4 ate ALL my lives. Stage 4 is really my weakpoint, I just don't get the carts and wallturrets sections.  :(

Can already consistently get all the BEES in stage 1 and 2 so 2nd loop soon perhaps, maybe, possibly...?

Congrats! Now go for 100m. :P

EDIT: Made it to just before Evaccania in Ketsui without using any bombs. If I can clean up my Stage 4 and stop derping on Stage 3, hitting Tsuujou might be in the bag.

Just get rid of the derping and skip straight to Ura.

Did a training run of Stage 5 Original on Futari. NDNB to Larsa. ND6B Larsa

Try some actual runs, rage quits on Stage 2 and 3 due to random sucking. Plus, even if I got to Stage 5, I'd probably not repeat that kind of performance anyway due to the fact that it's probably my worst stage in the game, which is followed by stage 4 as my second worst. Stage 3 is then the third worst for me, but I have perfected it before just like the first 2, I just can't do it in a run. I've also perfected Stage 4 up to the boss's final attack as well, though I bombed for safety, yet again not in a real run.

So if I repeated my best performances in Training, I could 1LC 1.5 Original, but I can't even 1cc because I keep making all sorts of stupid derps and I panic bomb way too much and I'm not consistent.

This describes my performance in the older Mushi perfectly. I feel that I should be able to 1cc Maniac but I always end up messing some part too horribly to recover. I find proper bombing in that game especially difficult since you're always so close to death it's hard to tell when you should bomb. There are also many many attacks in the game that I can do perfectly like 80% of the time and I just can't seem to get more consitent.

Oh, and let's not speak of what happened on the 2-2 boss. >_>

Golden Bat. I really don't see any reason to use anything else from the standard ships and I don't want to use the Mahou stuff. The wild Snail types have better firepower than the other 3 and the speed version has just perfect speed for me.

Is Golden Bat the one that fires piercing bullets? If so, then that's one of the more ideal ships to use for most people.

AHAHAHAHA HELL YES

GUESS WHO JUST LOOPED KETSUI :D

Evaccania's final attack with no lives and not being allowed to bomb is the most terrifying shit ever Jesus Christ ;_;

2-1 wrecked me pretty hard as expected, didn't even make it to the boss. Scored 95m so I didn't beat my old score (and I'm kind of clueless how second loop scoring works since the system completely changes... something to do with spawning suicide bullets?), but at the minute I really don't care; I'm happy enough with having made it to Tsuujou at last.
