The characters. The characters break common stereotypes, and fanservice doesn't get in the way, except for that one episode. Must have been a slow week. ;_;

And Takashi totally nailed Saeko. There's no mistaking it. Towards the end of the episode, Saeko asked Takashi if he's willing to take responsibility. Not just that, though. The convo earlier that day and Saeko's confession at the shrine.
