Honestly I think it's a bit overrated just cause we haven't seen many zombie anime this year (IIRC, but my memory fails me at everything before noon today). No fanservice and actual plot development/MOAR GUNZ MAN (ta zombies-on-a-plane scene was itself better than all ta other episodes put together, really... actual THINGS are HAPPENING)

Seriously, why do ecchi artist do that? It's not even really erotic (to me anyway), it just looks weird and kinda very stupid. I like a nice pair of tits as much as the next guy, but crap like this just makes the sweater puppies look downright nasty.

I'd love to watch a zombie apocalypse anime. HSotD is a parade of cartoon titties floppin' around, occasionally interrupted by zombies, and the story just isn't strong enough to make that not annoying. However, I'm still following it to see if it redeems itself, because it has real potential.

Reading the Hayate the Combat Butler manga and it's not bad. Does the anime also break the 4th wall?

Also, what are some great horror anime series with more emphasis on story than combat sequences?
