Alright, so, I finished the anime "Welcome to the NHK" about four years behind everyone else. For the most part, it held up to the manga. I was a bit disappointed that it sort of beats you over the head with "The Message", even if less than the manga, and even more disappointed that Hitomi wasn't as deep in the anime (she's still my favorite character, though). The scene on the cliff, with the Off Meeting, was just plain ricockulous, too.

For the most part, I did enjoy the anime, but felt sometimes that they ran out of ideas at times and so hit on the same themes over and over.

"Human history and growth are both linked closely to strife. Without conflict, humanity would have no impetus for growth. When humans are satisfied with their present condition, they may as well give up on life."

Negima 299 spoilers:
Spoiler:
Sort of want. I always figured when Zazie a Rainyday went into overdrive it'd be more Nightmare Circus and less Lady Lucifer. I'm not adverse to the horned look, but something more in keeping with her acrobat/circus theme or along the lines of her armor card from Negima?! would've been fine as well. Though I suppose this is Rainyday Senior as opposed to Zazie herself.

Funny how she's going to be squaring off with Mana given the Mana-Zazie interplay in Negima?!

Wow, it's like me owning Sayori's art books all in hard copy and then going "Sayori sucks dick"

That's depressing yo~

Supposedly there's a pic where Kantoku mentions his comp. specs...
I lost it, though. He has a pretty neat setup.

at least Kantoku doesn't make silly mistakes and she draws nice.
thing is... they always sold out. I am also bored of Tony Taka's atypical girl. frankly, I no longer like his artstyle. There are some artists whom I stay with for as long as it goes, but I don't think Tony's art is that impressing much less nice anymore. I think he wanted to commericialize everything, and he ends up just foregoing the quality check.

I am fairly certain kantoku just likes to draw pretty girls. I am not sure. does Pixiv say anything?
T2 is still drawn by Tony, all of them are by Tony, I just don't think he makes any good stuff rather than repeat repeat what his last artbook and doujin and comic was about. Though... what can I expect from him? It is not like he is a major league artist like Carnelian~ desu ne?
(heck, I think Sayori and Caidy Chen is better than him.)

Caidy Chen is Sayori's shadow.

Excuse my rudeness. =/
But I really do think so.

Until he figures a more original way to color, I will not respect him. The talent is there, though. He knows to draw.

Also, I'd like to mention Alphonse / White Datura.

Started chobits years late of everyone else.

It was unbearable at episode one. As it goes on, it starts to have semblance of a plot, though.

I'm terrible at these posts, just like i'm terrible at movie reviews and book reports agh.

The first half is pretty empty, humorous, borderline fanservice stuff with some depth sprinkled in. Eh.

The second half is what made me love Chobits, though. Stick with it.

The manga's far better at mixing the plot with the fanservice early on, though.  And by that, I mean this is another unsubtle part of my campaign to get you all to read the manga. >.>

Anyways, other than unsubtle propaganda... The first volume of Knights of the Zodiac/Saint Seiya arrived today.  Let's see if it's any good, then~

Has anyone seen the anime series Eden of the East or The Tatami Galaxy and if so, what were your thoughts?

I've seen Eden of the East. I thought it was beautiful, but it's one of those shows that require you to think after you're done with the series. There's so much going on in those 12 episodes, and it can be difficult to write about it in the end.

"It was good" Doesn't suffice, I'll tell you that.

It's been a while, since I saw it, though. A year, perhaps?

---------> If you had a million dollars, how would you use it to save the world?
Something among those lines.

Sounds like East of Eden might be fun. I discovered those two titles reading up on Trapeze, which we're starting to pick up again after watching the first two episodes months ago. And all three shows ran on Noitamina.

Episode 3 of Trapeze was pretty great. I think we'll be watching that parallel to Eden of the East and Tatami Galaxy.

Trapeze was a great anime. Took a while getting used to the art style I ended up loving it.

Anyway Chartfag have their Fall 2010 out for those that haven't seen it.
Could be a good season actually. Index season 2 is there, plus I've heard good things about "The World God Only Knows" manga but I've never read it myself. Panty and Stocking has a great sounding production team so could turn out awesome, and there are a few things on there I just randomly like the sound of.  :V
