My wife has called Arakawa the best anime she's ever seen. That's a bold statement, but it's certainly the best in a long time, as far as romantic comedies go. If Season 2 maintains the momentum, it could easily surpass Toradora. Which isn't a wholly fair comparison, I know, given how different they are - Toradora has a deeper personal connection between our young lovers than Arakawa, I feel, but Arakawa's supporting cast is more interesting than Toradora's, on top of Arakawa's social commentary (e.g., societal status, father/son relationships, what it means to depend on someone, etc.). I really hope Season 2 keeps that going.
