Ah, FE. I bought Path of Radiance after I started maining Ike in Brawl (:V), and I've grown to like the series a lot. I've play Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, Blazing Sword, and Sword of Seals. I liked RD the most, but the second half of the game could have been so much better if they didn't just shove Ike and his enormous neck down our throats and let Micaiah have the goddamned spotlight.

I actually liked playing as the Dawn Brigade in Part 1 more than the Greil Mercenaries. In Part 1 it's actually a strategy game, and you have to battle save plan out your attacks many movements in advance since your characters are so underleveled. With the Mercenaries you just split up and stomp on everything's face. The Part 3 Dawn Brigade chapters are actually some of my favorite battles in the series (although 4-5 is the best, it's amazingly fun).

If you're playing Normal mode, aren't most FE games just your promoted units destroying everything near the end of the game? :V

RD seemed alot like most fire emblems though. Early game you plan Mid game you begin to curbstomp with promoted units. and Endgame you plan slightly more.

Unless it's Shadow Dragon then you just go lol I make Sedgar General and warp abuse.

That's when the Dawn Brigade starts to turn good for a change (shortly before most of them get dropped into the dustbin, but whatever).  Or maybe it's because the enemy laguz are easier to beat than the humans.  Whichever.

Not only are Dawn Brigade in pt1/2 underlevelled, they suck. Objectively suck. They're so horrible they're comparable to most of the FE6 cast.

I didn't think FE6 cast was THAT bad...all the magic users in the first half of the game up to Ray were great, and among the melee characters, Rutgar and Gonzales were arguably the best in their classes for any of the GBA games. But yeah, the (non-Percival) prepromotes were pretty bad, and Roy himself is a terrible lord, so...okay, maybe you're right.

Also if we go by your playing field Guy is potentially just as good if not better than Rutger. Either way, most FE6 characters are really shit. And can you forget CATH?!?!?!?!

Chad needed to be able to promote, because he was actually good.  Lugh is awesome.  Dieck is good.  Miledy is good.  Ray is good.

...yeah, that's about all FE6 has to say for itself.

Dawn Brigade?  Edward's growths are absurd.  Nolan is good.  Laura, if you take the time and effort to train her, is good.

...yeah.

FE6 is still winning. :V

Shadow Dragon is a game you have to make fun.
Like killing all your characters off and getting generics to replace them.  (and killing them off, except accidentally this time because they have 0 Luck and something like 0 personal growths)

Also I managed to miss Nagi and Aum as well in SD I just reclassed Caeda and gave her a ridiculous Silver Bow and killed Madeus with 2 Crits. It's kinda sad how I could likely have beaten the game with 5 characters total on Normal. I guess I need to beat H5 now.

Roy isn't any better.  All he has is his SSBM performance (which only resembles 10% of the actual game) and mooching on Lilina's popularity.

What's sad is that both of them are still better than a number of the other characters in their respective games.

Once you get past the first few Chapters you can beat H5 with 5 characters total.  (Getting that far, though, is kind of a nightmare.)

Marth has RES growth in a cast where almost nobody gets RES.
...Okay, so that was in Shadow Dragon, but STILL.

Also, coincidentally, Marth and Roy both get improved once they get their super weapons - Falchion and SoS respectively.

Man, I should get back into playing FE.  I haven't really played an FE game since Radiant Dawn, and I got pissed off near the end of chapter 1 because seriously these characters are just not good enough for what the game's asking you to do (Also finding out that the time I'd spent using Tormod would be utterly wasted because he only shows up again at the very end).

I've played the crap out of 7 and 8 (8's got 100% Supports and Super Trainees unlocked; 7's at several boatloads of game clears and about 68% supports) and I've beaten 9.  Was about 2/3 of the way through 6 then I ragequitted over something I can't remember and lost my data since then.

...So which do I go to?  6, 10, or 11?

10.  Actually, beat 9 again, then retry 10.
