Yeah.  I'm diggin' the

I'm actually amazed some of these actually seem as good as the 3rd gen pokemon that where tolerable.

Scizor says hi

Also Some of the more influential people on smogon are favoring a no bans attitiude for the start of 5th gen.

Also the Rock/Flying archaeopteryx looks very interesting.

Eh, Scizor's just a bug with a metal shell, this dude's a freakin'

And I'm not terribly 'in' to the tourney/competitive scene, is that unusual?

They started the first 5 gens more or less with a pre existing ban although in RBY it was warranted GSC it can be debated less so in RSE and there due to tradition basicly in 4

So yeah Smogon's gotten those roms cracked and the tables out Gamefreak has trolled comptetitive pokemon to the extreme.

EDIT: Okay this is going to be overly ridiculous from the start if the "Dream World" abilities are correct. Blaziken will go from Meh to lol thanks to Speed Boost

Emboar lv.38

Warubiru lv. 38
That zebra thing lv 38
giant yorkshire terrier lv 38
-hm slave

Can't find Wargle yet.

Also everything is a freaking tank in this game

Wargle is the Eagle, right?  I'm 99% certain it's a Black exclusive (The other 1% is that I've totally mucked up the charts in my head and it's White - White has the Vulture-looking bird as an exclusive)

Protip from experience:
Spoiler:
At least for the first three gyms, you can always find a pokemon capable of massively assisting against a gym leader by progressing a little past the gym then coming back.  Advantangeous Monkey is given by an NPC in the lot near the first gym, there are fighting types and Rock Smash TM on the route after the second gym, and you can find the fire-type Daruma in the desert right following the third gym

I'm waiting too.
A friend of mine is importing White (that's the one with Zekrom right?  He said he didn't like Reshiram, it was too fluffy or something.)  So I can just find out how it is from him, like I did for HG/SS.

I'm making a point of avoiding information about these games as much as possible though so I can go into them fresh, with no expectations, like I did for Ruby and Sapphire back when they were first released.  I made a mistake with Generation IV by waiting years before deciding to buy the games so everything was spoiled and less enjoyable than it could have been.
Take me on a rocket ride.

I'm reading the info just because I wanna see what other features the games have.  Also, thats more or less why I'm getting White as well.  :3

Whew, now that things have died down a bit, I can safely say that I'm more hyped about the story and characters rather than the Pokemon themselves. =P Having said that, those Dream World abilities are certainly... interesting, and the music is fabulous (especially the Gym Leader themes <3). I'll just wait for the NA release, though. No rush.

In the meantime, I'm impatiently waiting for more Sugimori art.

I'm looking at things like how triple battles work and new features and what the setting and music are like, but I'm avoiding looking too much into the new pokes, outside of what they are and what they look like.  I don't want to make the mistake of playing the first time with a party already picked out like I did with Diamond, which made things less fun because it made me feel unable to try out whoever I wanted.

I like Reshiram actually, I didn't at first, but it and it's white fluffiness grew on me.  I'm having a hard time deciding which version of the game to get. But I don't like Pokabu's evolutions at all (I'm sorry if anyone does, but I really don't.)  I'm probably picking Mijumaru.
It'll be exciting to see the names for the new Pok?mon in other languages.
Take me on a rocket ride.

I like Mijumaru, I like  his 2nd stage, but his 3rd stage is out of fucking nowhere and looks ugly as sin. I am so disappoint that I picked Pokabu for my starter. I never, NEVER, pick the fire starter.

I actually like Mijumaru's 3rd stage, and Tsutarja is the first grass starter in a while that I would actually consider picking (I think since Bulbasaur).  I don't like grass types very much at all actually. I usually pick fire for my starter, but I can't bring myself to because of that stupid wrestling...thing. And how many Pok?mon with that type combination does the game need?

I wouldn't necessarily agree that Daikeneki looks bad, but seriously its moveset is pretty delicious stuff. I'll probably be choosing him.

I always pick the water starter so Imma goin' for Mijimaru.

Also, I will rage if I hear ANY music from the game before I get it.  One of the best parts about playing a new Pokemon game is plugging my headphones into the DS and listening to the music.

I picked the water starter because of the whole "we wear blue" comic which was adorable as hell.

Also I am never, ever evolving it.
