I imagine it depends on the type of insect you're dealing with. But to my admittedly limited experience with the field, most of the time antenna are sensory organs, as opposed to something like a blind person's cane.
Although I wouldn't be surprised at all to see there are insects who use 'em that way, or some sort of arthropod what does it.
