Probably something more important than our declaration of independence, if that's even possible (...well, until we find a national anthem more epic than this theme). Best if we take our seats quickly and find out what it is.

> :3 Sana gives you a funny look as you make a quick boast.

>  :3  :) Judging by the epic, serious sounding music, this is something serious. Probably something more important than our declaration of independence, if that's even possible (...well, until we find a national anthem more epic than this theme). Best if we take our seats quickly and find out what it is.

> :3 Yes, the Monster Hunter song tells you that something important is going to happen! That, or the shrine is just a very grandiose place, which it is.

> :) What music and anthem?

Sanaribelenko: Wonder if getting molested by Jana would make this situation better or worse.

> :) You're pretty sure that it makes everything worse!

>Marvel at everything in the shrine. Especially the shiny things.

> :3 Maybe those shinies will be yours someday? The big glowing statue behind the podium looks pretty neat.
> :) It's grandiose enough to have many pretty shinies! There is a large gold statue of the goddess behind the podium, glowing softly... You're pretty sure that this is the main means by which she channels her received faith in order to hold a physical form.

Sanaside
> "Rah Rah Ooh La La"

Janaside
> "STOP, CAN'T TOUCH THIS" and touch the pants while wiggling from side to side.

> :) Syllables that make no sense to anyone, much less you, has no place in this kind of situation!
> :3 You are very tempted to do this, but it's too loud to proclaim your untouchability. Still, you do a quick shuffle-dance in front of Sana and Solais. Sana looks confused, and Solais seems pretty mad. She directs you two to some chairs next to her.

>As you sit down, Solais hovers to the podium and raises her hands, and everyone quiets down. When the room is silent, Solais moves to the side of the podium and the light from the statue intensifies. With a quick flash of light, the goddess herself materializes right between the statue and podium, floating with a soft humming sound.

>As her feet touch the ground, she walks tot he podium and amplifies her voice for everyone to hear. "Thank you for coming tonight, honored guests and delegates. It has come to pass that a new kind of enemy has appeared. This enemy is both mindless and determined, and has already taken the forms of those familiar to us. Their arms have even taken familiar forms as well." In her hands are suddenly and a harmonica, which she presents tot he audience by extending her arms outwards.

> :3 You recognize the harmonica as the one that the fairy brought to you earlier!

>"As we have already seen, their ability to replicate the physical form is exemplary. However, we may have found their weakness. Thanks to a pair of accounts we have received, those being of the assaulted of this morning-" A light shines down upon Moerin and Xan at this point in the goddess's speech. "-and that of the craftswoman-" A similar light shines down on you! "-we have learned that this enemy's ability to replicate magic is far inferior."

>"The reason I have called for your presence here tonight was to discuss a plan of attack, but with the knowledge gained today, I believe that our course is clear. With many skilled youkai and magicians in this world, we can drive off this enemy before they can master our magic and complete whatever plan they have. I have asked my head priestess to map out some tactical locations we must defend. Solais?"

>Solais comes to the podium and waves her right hand in the air. A map made out of light appears in front of her, facing the audience. Gapland is in the northern center of the map. The only familiar highlighted location is a network of caves to the southeast, but there are three other highlights.

>The goddess's voice continues from behind the map. "With our emissaries and magicians, I believe that it is our duty to hold these locations. I would request you to report back to your respective goddesses in order to prepare for mobilization. I assure you that as the goddess of hopes and dreams, my intentions are pure, so I would request your cooperation with me in this endeavor."

>As she finishes speaking, the goddess begins to fade away, and the statue's glow diminishes to the point of it being an ordinary statue once again.

>As the shrine brightens up, those gathered in the room begin chattering amongst themselves, bringing the room's ambient volume to an uproar. Solais, still up on the stage, simply bows and flies down a hallway leading further into the shrine.

>There are a great deal of knowledgeable people around, and a wealth of information to be gathered! Where would you two like to begin?

>You both decide to ask that fairy friend (Dusty, you think it was) a few questions about Erebus's situation. She seems pretty shy, but willing to answer.
>"Um, well... Those gray things showed up one day and came at us with wrenches. They were like fairies, I think. But I was able to beat them real easy. Erebus asked me to come when one of your shrine fairies showed up since I was the one who fought them."

>She's an energetic one, isn't she~?

Gappyside
>Consider docking Solais' pay until he calms down about the ritual things.

>That energy is how she keeps the other fairies motivated. There's only one truly blessed fairy, but all the other fairies of the shrine are necessary to keep things running.

Janaside
>We seek independence, not conquest ;_;

> :3 After a bit of reconsideration, you decide not to bite the statue anyway. Besides, your teeth wouldn't be very happy about that. You can feel your canines thanking you for abandoning that line of thought.

Quote
>Go see what the Rurosakans have to say. Ask about where the gray faeries came from, too.

> :3 You go up to the two main Rurosakans. The one you think to be Donut gives you a slight frown, and the other, whom you think is Zengar, gives you a little smirk. They obviously haven't forgotten that you attacked and followed them during the last incident...
>You ask them about the events at the Rurosaka Shrine. Donut is the first to speak up. "Those gray fairies actually attacked us in a big swarm. A lot of ours were hurt, but I was able to dodge their bullets pretty easily. Like, laughably easily." Zengar speaks right after Donut. "And right after she confused them, I was able to start the cleavage. So, when we got the call to come here, we both came. Problem is, a bunch of our fairies that got hurt or had to respawn wanted to come to, and... Well, you can see how that turned out."
>Of course, as soon as Zengar finishes speaking, the fairies in Rurosakan Shrine colors start swarming around them, asking about going home. It takes only a glare from Zengar to silence them. "Anyway, I see you helped your goddess out, so I won't cleave you for last time."

Quote
Sanaside
>Go bother the local teachers. It's weird they're here.

> :) While Jan talks to the Rurosakan emissaries, you talk to the two local schoolteachers, triangles and Arashi, asking them why they were called.
>Arashi talks to you first. You know her as a schoolteacher and a kappa, despite kappa not being native to the waters around this mountain. "We came because the goddess thought our skill in science and magic would be a big help. Since magic is one of their weaknesses, I think they probably don't know much science either."
>triangles speaks to you as well. You know she's a youkai native to the area, having lived here with her wife since before you were born, but you don't actually know her too well. "Yes, I think that's a safe assumption. While these invaders seem to be attacking centers of magical energy, since there aren't really centers of science, we can still use our unique knowledge against them. We actually already have some people from the school analyzing the beast youkai your friend Jana beat up earlier.
>Wait, Jan beat up some youkai? You hadn't heard about this!

> :) Wonder how that person up there did that shiny entrance.

>Probably just because she's a goddess. Even the humblest goddesses have to do flashy things sometimes to keep getting their faith!

>As things simmer down, both Rurosaka and Gapland fairies begin flying out of the shrine to play, leaving only the youkai and the human, Sana. The quiet lasts a few moments until Solais re-enters the room from the hallway behind the stage. "After speaking with my goddess, we believe that each of your will be able to handle one of the four targets we outlined during my goddess's presentation. Of course, your goddess's words will decide that, but please bring the matter before them." She seems to be focusing on Dusty when she says this, and Dusty nods back.
>As the emissaries leave, only the two of you, the two schoolteachers, and Solais remain. She speaks quietly to the two teachers for a short moment before turning to you two. "Because the caves are the closest target to our shrine, the goddess has asked me to assign the four of you to investigating it. Our scientists will be able to support you, as well as analyze your findings. Do you agree to this?"
> :) You like the goddess and living here, and even though you don't know how you can help, you give Solais your word that you will try!
> :3 You don't like having to go under orders from a goddess, but it all makes sense anyway. You promise Solais to go to the caves with Sana and these two scientists.
>Is there anything you'd like to ask Solais or the two science users before you head home for the night?
