Actually, having heard nothing but notorious reputations general populace spread about, I expected much worse when I picked "Easy". Case of high expectations, I guess. 

That doesn't change the fact that STAGE 4 is Evil though. Ate through all my continues.  :/
(is it only me or do you seem to have some sort of beginner's luck first time you play the level, only to fail miserably what you somehow beat before?)

I remember having great trouble with SA Stage 3 on Normal when I was new.

I have since perfected the stage on Lunatic.

This shows how I felt about Kogasa...but it was countered by the time I finally beat Kogasa..and was then brofisted to death on Icirin's midboss card.

Went to try other Touhou games after that.

And still have trouble on Kogasa sometimes.

UFO is only my second Touhou game played, first being SA.

I only got to reach Satori on Easy and Parsee/Yuugi (depends on luck) on Normal.

This derpface could not figure out how to capture Icicle Fall on Normal until a month after he started playing.


Also, this derpface still refuses to bomb cards because he believes that there is still a small chance of capturing them, which usually results in a failed 1CC.

I started with MoF easy and luckily managed to beat stage 4 without focusing because I didnt know what it was or how to use it.
1 and a half years later I'm able to 1cc the windows games on normal.

Fast forward about a decade and I can 1CC UFO Easy and almost 1CC Normal. Just a bit more practice...

I mean can't you get to modboss rumia even if you push absolutely nothing? *looks*
update: Yeah, you can get to midboss rumia without pushing a single button without using a continue, you die twice though.

Anyway I haven't progressed nearly as significantly. I don't remember my very first game that well, I know it was EoSD normal. I think I game overed on stage 4. My first death I DO remember. Cirno's opener.. I wasn't really expecting a fast moving shotgun.

November 30 2007, I played the MoF demo on easy mode, unknowingly at 30 FPS (old old computer >_>). I think I 1cc'd. Looking at videos of EoSD and noticing the lower bullet density, I was like "wow, this looks like it may be almost too easy."

December 10, I got EoSD and skipped easy and went straight to normal, me thinking that 1ccing the MoF demo on hard (at 30 FPS mind you) would give me an edge. Game over on Cirno.
