>She nods. "Well, if you say so, I suppose all there is will be to let you take the exam and see how you do. Afterward, we'll have another meeting to discussion your scheduling and financial situation. I'm sure the front desk told you, but you make walk in and take the exam at any time. You may also make an appointment, if you don't wish to have to deal with any waiting. Now, do you have any questions for me?"

>"We mostly let for the summer," says the woman, "So, you'd have until, well, practically the end of July. But the sooner you apply, the better obviously. There are a few courses taught during summer, so if you are interested in those, you would probably wish to arrange for it by next week. They're mostly elective things that some people miss during the proper year, and a few basic courses that you might be interested in. Any other questions?"

>"Well, we're not quite finished yet." she replies. "There are a few more things about your school record I would like to go over..."
>You spend the next fifteen minutes or so answering more specific questions about your time in school. In particular, your lack of club activities (none of them interested you, and you didn't really want to hang around school any longer than necessary) and some of disciplinary infractions you've made (who hasn't stolen a few things from the chemistry lab for playing with later?). But, overall, you think it went well.
>It is a quarter after when you leave the admissions office. You find Orin lingering about outside. "How'd it go?" she asks.

>"Well, I kinda hinted you might spring for dinner to make her more amenable to the idea," says Orin. "You can probably talk your way out of it, though, one you pique her  interest in other things."
>You take the paper. The address is a street in the Industrial Park, you've been on that street in the past to do some duct work a few blocks away, back in October.

>You will need a bus to get to Uptown from here.
>You follow Orin to the bus stop, though you are not together for long as she climbs onto a D Route bus for home, and you go for a B route bus for Uptown a few minutes later.
>After ten or so minutes you find yourself Uptown. This is one of the better parts of the island, the buildings are all well built and well maintained, if in a riot of clashing styles. Small skyscrapers share space with old flat-style buildings and more normal-sized stores. Thre are a couple people on the streets, hurrying along and not looking your way at all. You can't help but wonder if they even recognize you are there? You can see Nitori's Heating and Air down the street to the east, with its distinctive van parallel parked out front. To the west are a number of office buildings. Down the street to the north, you can see the pawn shop. To the south is a strip center with a couple of restaurants.  Obvious Exits are North, South, East, and West.

>You return to Nitori's Heating and Air. You find her at the counter, in the process of taking apart that power supply you removed from the AC Unit at Usami Investigations earlier. "Hey, Okuu," she says, looking up at you. "How're things?"
>You ask about the Inspection. "Her plumbing's a bit on the lousy side, but it's serviceable," says Nitori. She frowns. "I sorta wish you would have mentioned she was broke, though."
