>You could look around the district some more, or catch a bus to a nearby part of town. The airport and the outskirts are not too far away. And you might be able to reach the Skids or the Park if you only linger there a few minutes.

>You wander over to the bookstore. Walking through the front doors, you are almost hit by the quiet, compared to the noise outside and the chatter of the restaurant. The decor is muted, with numerous shelves of books arranged in neat rows across the floor, and balcony style second floor running along the wall with more shelves. At a glance, it seems the lower floor is devoted to university materials; you see little signs on the shelves mentioning what courses require what texts.

>You browse through the school texts, and find a number of interesting-looking ones. They are also very expensive. Even the used ones tend to run around 60☼.
>Checking the upper area, you do find a small history section, with a natural focus on the island. However, most of them seem to be devoted to its founding, Cold War tensions, or to the independence movement. It seems no one has taken the time to compile a collection of paranormal things about Gensokyo.

Sadly, there isn't much happening in here to distract you, and you are too nervous to study. The minutes pass at a crawl, before one of the doors opens, and a woman with curiously striped hair says, "Miss Reiuji? Please come in."

>You enter the office. It's not very large, but the windows offer a nice view of the street below, the dorms, and the Research Institute in the distance. The woman has a seat behind her desk, which is covered with a number of papers and office supplies, as well as an older style computer monitor. A statue of a tiger rests atop it.
>The woman is a fairly tall and fit-looking person with an open and friendly-looking face, wearing a collared shirt and dress skirt. She seems to be in her thirties. if not for her oddly dyed hair and lotus-shaped hairclip, she wouldn't be very remarkable. Between her hair and tiger status, you start to have a sneaking suspicion she might be one of those kind of furries who doesn't shut up about it...

>She nods. "That's fair enough. You'd be surprised at the number of entries we get that simply say 'Money', if they've even thought ahead that far. There is the perception that a degree is something that absolutely must be done, and this leads to many problems for those unable to handle it or those whose interests lie elsewhere. I'd like to think the career path you're on at the moment has demonstrated that you don't need a degree to be successful. But, if you're doing this because you really want to, then there is no issue. But the next concern is your high school performance. I expect you understand that concern already, as well? It is going to take a great deal of dedication for you to achieve this."
