>You consider going to hunt for that shrine in the forest, but with an appointing looming over your head, it seems like a bad idea. But Maribel might have an- AHA! That's why Yukari looks so familiar! Wow, Yukari could easily be her mom. Or maybe her aunt.
>You bid farewell to Yukari, and make your way southwards. You pass by a convenience store and a couple of fast food places before you see a bridge running over a large stream. Past it, you see a very distinctive building. It's sloping roof and columns stand out from the box stores and such around it, looking out of place and oddly gaudy for all the prefabrication. It takes you a moment to notice all parking lot beside it, its design stands out so much. Still, it does look picturesque, standing against the distant forest, especially if you ignore the hardware store across from it. Obvious exits are North, South, East, and West.

> Enter and make your way to the main pavilion, assuming there is one.

>You do this, and proceed inside.
>Through the doors, you find a short hall with coat racks and the like leading to a large, central room. Within, you see the several wooden statues of the Buddha and what you suppose are various other enlightened peoples. Beautiful paper screens have been set out, illuminating various scenes you do not recognize in classical art styles. Mats for sitting line the floor. There is a smell of vanilla in the air, and the whole place seems quite peaceful. At first, you think you are alone, but you hear someone sweeping behind one of the screens. Obvious exits are West.

>"Byakuren Hijiri," she replies as she steps around the screen. She's a rather tall person, its not often another woman stands taller than you, and wearing layered black and white robes. "Is there anything I can do for you?"

> How is her hair curious?

>It seems like she either gave up halfway through a dye job, or she dyed her hair a long time ago and never bothered to touch it up after letting it grow out.

"I would go so far to say that every religion believes such a thing, to one extent or another. But, I take it you aren't a particularly religious person? Another question as well; does anything feel right?"

>That's a hard one.
>Thinking on it, you are pretty sure the people you interacted with didn't feel too wrong. Maybe it's because your mind was focused on interacting with them. Aside from that...no. The world is wrong, you are sure of it.

>She nods, and considers for a moment.
>You are being honest with her, and as accurate as you can for what amounts to a vague, if powerful, feeling of ill ease.
>"I've not heard of anything like this," she says at length. "It is not unheard of for people to have epiphanies that reveal to them the nature of the universe and the falseness of our perceptions in a single instant. But, it's never been described as you, as a disquieting thing, but rather as a joyful experience. What you describe is completely outside of my experience. It is as though you gained a kind of enlightenment, and alienated yourself from any kind of nirvana in the process."
>Byakuren sighs. "I don't even know if what I am saying is remotely true, I'm sorry. I am not sure if I can help you with this. But, I believe I can offer one clue. I believe if you feel the wrongness within yourself, it is within yourself that you must first face and correct it. But if you do not know what it is, then you will have look without until you can find a proper mirror to reflect what is wrong, so to speak."

>You are certain it extends to you to some degree, which is why you were so terrified when the feeling first came this morning.
>"Not literally, no," says Byakuren. "But if think it would help, there are worse things you could do."

>Try to touch your non-existent wings.

>You don't have any wings to touch. You wouldn't have been able to put your shirt on or walk through the front door if you did.

> This girl's hair is a testament to the lack of mirrors in this shrine. Therefore, forget looking for mirrors here.

>To be fair, once you get used to it she wears the look pretty well.

Do you happen to know anything about mysterious shrine in the forest or Moriya shrine? I heard that teachings of the three shrines here are all different."

>"I am sorry I can't do more for you," she says. "Despite the alien nature of your problem, I would recommend that you keep to the Eightfold Path. Through that, at least indirectly, I feel you'll find a solution. As for the other shrines, well... I've never heard of one in the forest. I thought it was illegal to build in there? I I can tell you a little about the Moriya Shrine, though. It's in the downtown area, not too far from the museum. Miss Kanako and her family runs it. It''s based around Shinto, I think it's dedicated to venerating all of the known deities. They tend to host a lot of public dinners there, which makes it quite popular with tourists."
