>While you're brooding over things, the cook approaches. "Know what you want?" she asks. You decide to go for the hash browns, eggs, and chicken combo. It's pretty affordable and filling at 7☼.
>Does this mean we finished eating already?
>If so, head to the Research Institute. Something tells you that you'll get more out of having a love life after this nagging issue has been solved.
>If not, savor it greatly. Check if anyone noticeable enters the building.

Try and understand them in terms of the theory you understand from the books. Don't fear the perceived complexity! Once you understand the meaning and how it was derived, any formula is a piece of cake, Okuu!

>You did. It was weird.
>You start noting down the things that are giving your problems. Unfortunately, you're running out of notebooks to separate everything into.
>You have another effort at the mathematical side of things, and really just sort of start to get irate at it. You understand what is realistically happening, but you can't really make the mathematical process reflect that in any way you feel comfortable with. Especially when all those weird Greek letters start showing up. Or are they Russian?

> This voice isn't focusing on the Orin possibility specifically, but is more interested in evaluating the chances in each relationship option, if we are indeed thinking of the possibility of a love life. Now we know the relative chances with everyone we know well - Yamame's weird, apparently, and she's already a good friend, so chances are okay-ish. Nitori's on friendly terms with you now, but she's also your boss, making starting a relationship difficult at best, potentially disastrous at worst. And Orin is somebody you've known all your life, is not technically blood related, and you've apparently had a go with her before.

>It is 10:10
>You decide to wander toward the Research Institute, heading west, strolling past the university and the student dorms.
>The street dead ends at the Research Institute. It is a large building, white with numerous windows. It is solidly built, no doubt made to withstand attack when the Cold War was still an issue. A formidable fence runs around the grounds, around it topped with coils of barbed wire. The grounds are fairly spacious and well maintained. The whole place has a curious mix of military menace and hospital-like cleanliness to it. There is a checkpoint by the gate. Obvious exits are East and West.

>Wow, that looks like excessive security much. Recall how much access in the building the ordinary people have.
>How long do you think it will take to go to the shrine, and come back to university?

>You honestly aren't sure. You've never entered it before. But you get the feeling you'd need a pass or an escort to get in, or at least a good story.
>Depends on which one you go to. You check your bus schedule. If you go to that one the gray-haired lady mentioned on the outskirts, it's probably a ten minute trip there on the C Route. If you go to the one that's Downtown, you'll spend likely a good 30-40 minutes either way, the two are practically opposite of each other on every route.

> Consider possibility of applying for part-time work in eateries in the area if you manage to get into university.
> Consider the feasibility of the crazier possibility of starting your own food stand or similar.

> If it is possible to visit as a guest, approach the gate.
> Otherwise, start making your way to the nearest shrine.

>Eats looks like a one-woman show, so that's right out. You're not sure about the rest, but you are certain they wouldn't pay half as well as your current job.
>You'd probably have to buy a lot of things, and you don't know if it'd pay as well as what you're doing now.
>You really don't know if they take visitors, and decide to play it safe for now.
>You return to the bus stop, and wait for the C Route bus to show up, which doesn't take too long. The trip to the Outskirts is uneventful, and you're able to squeeze a little more study time in before your stop comes up.
>You are at the Outskirts, in a recently developed area. There isn't much natural-looking flora here, just the occasional left-over tree and recently re-sodded lawn, given a sort of plastic aura about the place. The houses are all in good condition, and look a little too...new to be tasteful, to someone who grew up in the skids like yourself. There's not much activity here, nor anyone else on the streets, though you notice a woman in a house dress and mop hat at one house tending to a flower garden. To the east, you can see the forest. A ways to the north, past some empty lots, you see the strip center where Usami Investigations lies. To the South you can see a clump of commercial-looking buildings. Obvious exists are North, East, South, and West.

> The Hieda house inspection is at Noon correct?  Do we need to be there for it?
>No. Miss Hieda said she will be going to the house herself.

>You wrack your memories to make sure you don't need to be there, and you're pretty sure you don't.

>"Oh, hello," says the gardener, as she looks back at you. She then stands up and dusts off her hands. She's a blond woman, her age hard to determine, but she has a rather healthy build. "I'm afraid you went the wrong way if you're seeking out the Moriya Shrine, it's downtown. The one here is the Myouren Shrine. It's to the south, past the stores. You'll see the bridge."
>You compliment her garden. She smiles. "Thank you very much! It's a little difficult to coax them from seeds, but so much more rewarding, I think."

>Ask her about history of shrines if she seem to be knowledgeable about it.

>"It's an honest mistake," she answers. "The names are somewhat alike. And indeed. The Myouren one is quite new, but I don't think it's an unwelcome place. As for Moriya, it's got its own history. They actually disassembled a shrine from Japan and brought it here. The imperialist fervor back then was an amazing thing back then; people were quite afraid America was going to stomp out their heritage entirely. A vain fear, of course, but it has gifted us with a lovely shrine. Of course, there are stories of another one in the forest, dating from the original occupation of the isle."

>Your more a gaming person than a garden person. But you've helped Satori with her garden when you were younger. That counts, right?
>You try to make some small talk, but you quickly run out of gardening-based things to talk about. "You're still new to the art, aren't you?" the woman asks.
>She seems friendly enough, but you are becoming aware of this strange feeling you've met her before.

Whether your make it an inside box or an outside depends on your tastes and the type of window you have, as well as the amount of sun you can expect to shine through it. The boxes themselves are easy to make, just measure them to fit your window, cut some sturdy wood to fit, and add some hooks over the back. Be sure the wood is sturdy, you will be putting a few pounds of soil in it."

Also, Mistake in the database: if we go by the fact that Myouren Shrine is a Buddhist shrine, then it can't be, as Buddhism had Temples not shrines.
