Err, you do realize everything in walking distance is basically gone.  And you really don't want to coordinate getting 15-20 people to a restaurant that isn't within a few blocks from the waterfront, it's a nightmare and you'll have a lot of lost people.

We brought a group of I think 8-10 to Obrycki's for Thursday night dinner, last year had no problem getting a table (Thursday's not a huge restaurant night, outside of the Otakon rush).  Then again, it is a bit of a walk or a drive but ohhhhh man crab.  And there's other stuff too for people who hate happiness or whatever  :derp:

That's totally accurate in my experiences as well.  As I mentioned earlier, we snagged a roommate as we were driving down to Baltimore because we had someone drop on Tuesday or Wednesday night or something stupid like that.

I've gotten rooms the Friday DURING the con, and at a cheaper rate than the con fee :V  If you're brave (or stupid like me), you could get nice stuff the week of the con as people start cancelling.

OK. I'm doing Mikuru both Friday and Saturday, so you can pick either day.

OK, I bought a ride out, so I'll be there Thursday early afternoon. I will be flying this year because I can't afford the extra days off work.
Is it hard to get from the airport to the general area of the con?

Not at all.  Light rail goes directly from BWI to the convention center and is only 3-4 bucks a ride.

Gotcha. I'm not so sure about Sunday considering the long trip home, but I'll be set for Friday and Saturday, so I'll be set for the panel, too.

I may mourn the loss of my chance to follow Spain Hetalia cosplayers (and Holland Hetalia cosplayers but good luck to me actually finding one) around with a vuvuzela, but on the whole, this is a good day.

*shrugs* Sort of? I've gotten used to the other meme stuff, so I've developed a partial tolerance to it. I guess I think the vuvuzelas would push me from major headache to aortic aneurism mode. Also, the vuvuzelas themselves are a tangible thing that con staff can take away. As soon as someone enters a crowd of people and barks whatever aggravating phrase he pleases, the entire crowd is gonna get in trouble. So, I guess I think the vuvuzelas will be a lot easier to keep in check than anyone with a working set of vocal cords who wants to frustrate the con staff.
