Their engagement had carried on for over an agonising hour, both wearing the other's endurance down. But both were at their limit.
Shou panted, the physical exertion forcing her almost to her knees. Despite her sweat-coated limbs trembling, she levelled her weapon at her opponent once more, the spear standing proud and steady.
"Eiki! Let's finish this!"
The Yama nodded. Shou had been... most skilled in handling her so far, but the encounter had dragged on far longer than the judge was usually used to.
Without a word, Shikieiki brought forth her great laser, the sidebeams like giant wings sweeping inwards. The laser pierced through Shou, causing her to gasp as she felt the light of judgement flow into her. Yet even as she convulsed in almost ecstatic torment, her counterattack had already begun. Her own yellow beams curled around the girth of Eiki's laser, caressing and weaving through it. They sliced through the Yama's defenses, the fleeting touches sending intense shocks through the judge's system, from the tips of her fingers to her very heart and soul. She arched her back as the feeling coursed through her.
"Eiki!"
"Shou-!"
The pair exchanged looks as they poured their energies into each other for an eternal moment longer, and then both collapsed on top of each other, utterly exhausted and spent.
