True, there is no reason to worry. As far as I see it, the jerks here are becoming dumber with each generation, which impacts their ability to act like a normal person. So the number of girls falling for their facades should decrease naturally over time

I've been called both "manly" and "motherly," so I guess I know what Moerin means. I'm not muscular at all, but I do project my confidence (whether it be true or not). Unfortunately, the only women interested in me are fifteen and women my own age don't really look my way. :<

That, or they don't realize that the traits they're attracted to are actually signs of jackassery - or that their interpretations of actions or accurate, or not realizing what they REALLY feel attracted to as opposed to their claims, or acting on inaccurate stereotypes, or neglecting the problem in favor of things like sexual attraction, money, social power/access, or less conscious desire/acceptance/preference for being abused.

Really, there are a lot of possibilities!

The flip side of this of course is that guys are even bigger idiots when it comes to girls.

This is why I can't get any more pissed off at "LOL TEENAGE RELATIONSHIPS" than I already am, because it imbibes the idea that, you know, maybe you shouldn't get into a deal with a complete asshole/complete selfish drama doll. Yes this applies to both genders and I'll be even more livid about it if people say that this only happens to one of the sexes (three guesses to which it is, the first one doesn't count).

Oh my god, this. I think these are qualities inherent to being a good PERSON in general, though. A woman can have traits similar to these-- confidence, being self-assured, "strong" (whatever that means), supportive, not afraid of being loving in public-- without having big boobs, nice legs, whatever and still be incredibly attractive on sheer basis of personality.

As such, I don't view them as inherently feminine or masculine traits, as Theorin said. I view them as qualities of a good person on the whole.

I meant just not being afraid to show affection (holding hands, arm around shoulder, etc), not those scary people who visibly try and grope each other in public. That's just gross. :V

Also, deep voice, yum. I can live without it, to be sure, but deep voices are great~

Not that anyone asked, but speaking from the perspective of a heterosexual guy, confidence isn't a trait that I find attractive per se. I like girls who are smart, creative, and feminine. High self-confidence is nice but not a must-have.

I also like uniqueness, even if it means dating girls who are a little crazy. 90% of the girls I talk to wear the same lame clothes, talk about the same lame stuff, it's boring.
