Suika needs to get an actual spell card that represents DS 6-4.
The game needs to bring back the original Evening Star and Onigashima in the Fairyland.


As for new characters, both Kaguya and Mokou were planned but got cut for certain reasons if I remember correctly, so they both would be likely candidates.

Byakuren would be an obvious choice for the new playable character, and Yuka is overdue if you ask me.

I'd like to see certain PC-98 characters, but that won't happen anyways.


However, what we really need is a 2-character character of Satori/Koishi similar to the ice climbers in super smash brothers.   :V

Something I really, really want in the next fighter?  Five button control:
2 melee
2 bullet
1 graze

That way the button does what I want when I press it, but there's more interesting melee then dial A combo.

Of course I want more characters, story and all as well.  But that's the big game thing I'd like changed.

if it's an expansion pack it won't introduce a new character.

More air-combat. These are supposed to be flying magical girls. There should be a cost for staying on the ground, not taking it to the air. >:|

Of course, take this too far and what you've got is just Acceleration of Suguri except fantasy instead of sci-fi ...

What if Sanae/Suwako had a spellcard that makes people on the stage fly like Divine Battle Above Gensokyo for some time?  It'd be pretty fun~

Normally I would be tempted to tell you to read the manual. However, since most of us don't speak japanese, I'll advise you to read the Wiki instead.  ;)

SWR/Soku combo notation:

Z= A
X= B
C= C
A= D (flight)

Z is your melee, X is light bullets, C are heavy bullets. A is flight, grazing.

7 8 9
4 5 6
1 2 3

^That's your direction notation. 6 is basically the right arrow key. 3 is right and down held together.

You can add direction notation on to variously things for other affects. For example, Marisa's 5A can turn into 6A (a butt rocket). Her 5C (ordinary green spark) can instead be a 6C (screenwide laser) or a 2C (a tossed potion bomb).

Special moves can be input with these notations: 623/236/22/214/421 followed by B or C. Not all characters have access to all these moves: for example, Marisa does not have a 421 skill.

Pressing 'D' on your keyboard will activate the currently selected card (indicated at the bottom of the screen). Pressing S will scroll through them. Some cards have multi-card requirements before they can be used.

Edit: Also, there's a chain of cancels available:

Standing A (5A, 5AA or 2A) -> directional A (3/6A) -> B bullet -> C bullet -> Skill (236/22/etc) -> spellcard.
You can jump ahead on this chain as far as you want so long as you have the spirit, card available, but you can't rotate backwards.

AHHHH I had always assumed that since ABC=ZXC were in a line, then D=V if I ever had to use it. Didn't realise this was infact the wrong assumption to make lol. I swear megamari uses S as well though :S so confusing lol. (not a fighting game but on the point of controls) anyway, Ill be sure to try that at some point!

I would like 2 vs 2 though, especially with netplay. Would be super fun for casual play. But they'd probably need even larger stages.

Who said they needed to be playable?

Give a good look at my post again: assignable combo buddies. They don't need to be player characters. They can just be made extra, non-playable sub characters that can be equipped to your fighter and then be summoned like Chen & Ran/Kanako & Suwako, resulting in the awesome duo attack.

And come on, don't you want to see Reimu use a finisher with her entire harem?

And, for one, think that Hina would make a great player character too. All kinds of spiin attacks! Spin Spin Spiiiiin! Hmmmm....though that would basically make her Touhou's answer to SSBB Sonic....

  • If they keep the skill card system, your default skills should start as the level 0 version of the cards you equip.
  • Every character gets extra skills for every unused button combination.
  • Chen and Ran usable for skills in the same way as Kanako and Suwako.
  • Able to access MP3s from a file in the game folder.
  • Toggleable weather.
  • Rework the blocking and grazing system.
  • Cards can be bought with points earned through story/arcade mode, rather than being randomly earned.

Personally I would be fine with any new characters, as long as they aren't bottom tier like how 12.3's started out.

Yukari main here, I would only approve of this if the actual spellcards were kept in. It could kind of suck if Ran's spellcard got meganerfed to a skill considering how useful it can be.
