...I think this point has been repeated enough now:
Anyone who is an enthusiastic devotee, follower, or admirer of Touhou.

...That's been defined, but what's defined as Touhou? Only the official games? Only the official works? Only the official unofficial things? Or everything that has even a tiny bit to do with Touhou (OH LOLOLOL I BE LIEK SEE RONALD MCDONALD DANCE TO A SONG LOLLLLLLLL)?

Then, you just fuse those definitions together and you get a [/thread] >_<

Well, he's asking what the bulk of what Touhou fans are like. Not what makes you one.

Similar to how COD fans think Delta Force lingo is cool, and have an aggressive attitude. Just an example.

I have most of the games, a few accessories as gifts and a touhou background. I'm pretty sure while I may be crazy, I don't fit into whatever you're implying.

Oh wow, most of that fits me perfectly...
I suppose for people who's been here for longer than me, it's no big deal.
But for me, well, I had no idea I fitted so well into a niche like this.

About being a Touhou Fan, I don't think there can be a true judge here.
Touhou is huge, it's not even just games. So I think if someone considers themself a Touhou fan, then so be it. Or maybe "Touhou Fan" just covers a wide area. So, by Touhou Fan, you could be a person who only enjoys the remixes of Touhou music. Or you could be a person who only enjoys the world of Touhou, or the games.

I guess you'd just have to ask the "Touhou Fan" about what kind of Touhou Fan they are.
Then they could just explain that they're "not really that much into the games or the touhou universe", but that they just really like the music.

Perhaps that'd be a Touhou Music Fan.

There are some out there who are pervs but then again every fanbase has those types.

Touhou is one of the hardest games I've played...maybe not the hardest ever but it's still hard.

I don't really like anime but I'm not bothered by the style. I've tried designing touhou fan games, but due to lack of programming ability cannot make them on my own.

In the end it's the music that keeps me hooked.

Well, I was a Touhou fan even before I played the games TBH. When I saw how productive the fans was I instantly knew that there was a reason behind all this hype.
I was right.

I guess I concidered myself a fan when I could name most of the characters in Bad Apple!

It doesn't matter how much you like the game or doujin material. A Touhou fan has a small, blue, circled 9 imprinted on their skin, just behind the left ear. If you don't have this, then you're not a real fan yet. Sorry.
