>"That's a lot of guessing on your part, especially since you're staking your life on it. You don't even know what it's like outside. And, I don't think you're that stupid, to just throw it all away on the toss of the dice. Especially since if you know anything about the border at all, you'd know it's the only reason there's magic here at all. I don't think you're stupid, but I do think you're trying to hide something when there's no longer a reason."
Meira chuckles. "Guessing? Come on. I know the history of this place, I know why theres a lot of youkai and few humans. And I know where those humans that youkai venture out to cook come from. I may not know everything outside, but I do know that they've a hell of a lot more reason to kill you youkai than me. Unless you plan to spring it on me that outside is suddenly a world where people kill eachother for no real reason?
That claim on the barrier being the only reason theres magic here at all is laughable. In the first place, where did the magic for the barrier before it was up come from, then. No where? And what about magical beings like yourself, you've existed before the barrier. I can see the overall level of magic dropping, like it has recently, sure. But hey, it seems like that isn't about to change anytime soon, so why not just take the power before it goes away?
I'm not hiding anything. Certainly less than you."
