ReimuA can shoot for full damage during the entire duration of her bomb.  And her damage is OP enough that even at 2.00 and sometimes 1.00 power she can still one-shot a lot of boss healthbars aside from Utsuho's and a few of Satori's.

And then there's the hilariously broken extend system which encourages you even more to bomb the fuck out of any boss attack you don't know how to do.  If you play stages 1-4 smartly/cautiously enough it's possible to have like 6-7 lives by the time you get to Orin.  Look up Veronica's infamous max lives replay if you'd like some hard evidence.


Oh, one more thing so I can pretend that I'm on topic.  That damn 'Bullets are cancelled from the boss outward when the card ends, so stray bullets can still kill you' mechanic from TH10 onward.  That shit seriously needs to DIE

In fact, it's possible to die several times in stages 1-4 and still have 6-7 lives to use on stage five, as I demonstrate here.

When I stop predicting; in other words, when I stop reading the pattern or following the gaps due to a lapse in concentration: Sometimes I will accidentally fixate on a relatively small aspect, like a single bullet or gap, and fail to take into account everything else going on around me--usually I instantly realize my error and see how to get around it, but am not left with enough time or space to execute. Other times I'm so into that "zone" that I will mentally note and flag a single bullet as a threat. . .and move right into it, because by then I'm so used to just having my fingers follow what my eyes see.

This is the major cause of my deaths in UFO over the past few days. Not because I'm charging into the danmaku and hitting a bullet, but because I'm looking at the UFO floating around the screen and run into a bullet around my actual hitbox. ):

I juest tried to beat PCB on Hard. Again. Most of my deaths were from me not reading properly, and the others were due to bullets spawning in my hit-box. I also died a few times due to long streams of fast bullets wanting me dead. Almost every death that happened, I had 2 or 3 bombs.

I use ReimuA whenever I play, and I have yet to seriously play on Easy or Normal. What is it I could improve on?

I use ReimuA whenever I play, and I have yet to seriously play on Easy or Normal. What is it I could improve on?

Apart from the obligatory "bomb moar", maybe stop using ReimuA? ReimuB and SakuyaB cover the screen well enough while actually doing damage. Also, there's no shame in misreading stuff in PCB; tons of crisscrossing patterns from Chen onwards, after all. It's a bit of a one-trick pony, but it's a good trick.

Not sure where you can get bullets spawning on top of you, though, unless you're rushing to the PoC when you really, really shouldn't. Heck, apart from Scarlet Gensokyo, I don't remember anything else in the series where you're at risk of getting telefragged by a spawning bullet unless you're completely out of position.

ebarrett, the bullet spawning thing was on Yomou, I think it was on one of her Non-Spells. I was around the Lower-Middle portion of the screen, which is much higher up then I normally am. Hell, I am normally so close to the bottom of the screen the I usually can't move down at all

NO!  SakuyaA is garbage.  Complete and utter garbage.  Pick ReimuB, MarisaA, or SakuyaB, and never look back.  You might not realize it yet since it seems like you're still learning the stage layouts and whatnot, but the forward-focus types are by far the best characters to use in PCB.  Just remember to shoot unfocused when you're safe to get your cherry up, get lots of borders, etc.

Also... play through the game on Easy and Normal a little bit to learn the stage layout and how the bullets are aimed at you.  It helps a lot, really.

Because she has extremely low damage compared to the aforementioned characters.  Also, homing isn't that useful in this game since most of the stage parts can be trivialized by killing enemies before they come on-screen with the high-damage characters, and because boss movement in PCB is based on your position relative to the boss (so it's not too hard to stay under them).  Also also, her cherry rate is bad, which means you get way less borders, meaning her four-bomb stock doesn't sound nearly as nice as it should be, and your score will end up sucking (if you happen to care).

SakuyaB, on the other hand, has just as much screen coverage(tap left-right unfocused, cover whole screen).  Her focus damage is way better, and she gets good cherry on top of the four bombs (they have crap damage, but they're stupidly long so it evens out).

If that makes Sakuya garbage, so then it also makes Reimu garbage. And Marisa is in that game as well due to only having 2 bombs per life and the biggest hitbox.

At least you can easily bombspam your way through Merlin's opener, and Merlin's other nonspells are easy. Not so with Lunasa.
