>"Oh damn it!" shouts Reimu. "It was a peaceful day, too! Well, at least this time the incident saved me the trouble of having to go look for it."
>She stands up, produces a talisman, and deftly affixes it to your forehead with a quick poking motion. It doesn't hurt at all, thankfully, but now you have a talisman obscuring your vision. "There, incident over," says Reimu. "Now behave or I'll be really pissed, got it?"
>She refills your cup.

>"Better play it safe then. Just a minute."
>Reimu stands up, and disappears into the shrine. After a minute, she returns, and hands you four slips of paper that bear intricate designs and immaculate calligraphy on them. "Okay, listen closely. Place these around it, at the four cardinal directions. Do that, and it'll be trapped inside. But, and this is a big but, you have to make sure of a few things. First, don't smudge or rip them. You do that, and they're shot. Second, you have to place them around it. Don't try to place them and then lure it through the barrier, that'll just break it. Don't let anyone walk through the barrier once it's up, that'll break it. Once you got the barrier place, don't move the talismans. That'll break it, and you won't be able to use them again. This should stop ghosts or immaterial demons in their tracks. Don't bother with physical things, though. You got me? "

>"Just don't make me regret it," says Reimu.
>You don't think it's been an hour, and you recall Eirin mentioning Tewi would probably need more time than that.
>You head north of town, passing Byakuren's tent and continuing down the road a bit, coming to a more or less empty spot south of Yuka's field and Medicine's hill. Considering the information you've been given, you go a bit west off the road.
>You are in a grassy field! The grass and other plants are about waist high, stretching out in all directions along gentle, rolling hills. Snow covers the ground lightly, and clings to the larger blades of grass here and there. To the north, you can see the grasses give way to Yuka's field, and to the south you can see the farms on the outskirts of human town. Obvious exits are North, South, and East.
>You consider using the Potion of Object Detection. It's a pretty sizable field, such a thing would certainly speed along the search for any kind of object you might be looking for.
>The wolf starts sniffing around the grass. It looks like he's found some tiny footprints in the snow, you think they belong to some kind of rodent.

>The tracks are definitely a rodent's. The wolf starts to follow them.
>You can distort light so as to make Infrared visible. But it would be very crude and not completely, you can't really detect infrared to begin with. You certainly wouldn't want to try to use such to look at something you want to interact with.

>From that you can tell, it is a normal groundhog hole. Perhaps a bit shallow, given how quickly the wolf was able to get his prize. Maybe the groundhog was just lazy?
>You look around, and see no signs of the Apparition.
>Likely the same reason there would be tall grass anywhere during winter. It doesn't disappear, it just goes brown and dead. There's only been a couple inches of snow, not really enough to bury it at all. A lot of that snow clings to the plantlife itself, so the snow on the ground isn't that think, either.
