As the two of you pass by the frozen lake, you find your eyes draw to its icy surface again, pondering what must lurk below it.

I cannot begin to guess if those two forces are compatible or not. I don't even understand what the latter one really is."

It was not as though anyone in the town could stop her, and she had little enough to worry about from normal Youkai. As much as I can tell, she just enjoyed exploring, which was a rare pleasure for humans in that time. It is possible she might have been attacked while swimming, I don't know if her condition would have been recorded. Or might well be something else."
