>Forget spell cards, consider casting magic missile with the purple gem.
>You feel a desire to try out your new gem. They worked last time.
>"That's all I see now, too; but when I distort the light, I can perceive it's true form. Is it okay with you if I mess with the light so I can see it?"
>If she doesn't mind, do so.
>"Please," says Eirin, as she takes a step back.
>You remove your Pair of Dark Glasses, and concentrate on distorting the light. The trees turn purple and the snow green as you ticker with how the light flows, until the Apparition comes into focus.
>It has changed, or rather there is more of it now. Before it was only a fragment of a face and a free-floating hand. Now you can perceive of its face, making out a hard line of a mouth as well as its chin, and part of what looks like hair near the top of its head. It jaw looks like it is separate from the its skull, as though the cleft of the jaw bone continued through to its spectral "flesh". A thin neck leads down to part of its chest, or perhaps some sort of hauberk. You can see an arm extending from the right side, a thin straight limb that seems almost emanciated. The arm terminates midway, then resumes at near the lower arm, ending in a hand. Another hand floats freely on the side. A foot can be see, extending from a narrow leg that emerges from the air; the foot looking like it is covered in some articulate boot. It seems to be miming a walk.
>The Apparition is much larger than your estimated it was beforehand, now that you can see more of it; it easily "stands" twice your height. It looks...artificial. That is the only way you can describe it. Not like a living creature, but rather like some approximation of one made worked materials. It approaches, walking quickly, its hands stretched toward you.
>Eirin is silent, but looks a bit concerned.
