>"Thanks, Nazrin."
>leave the manacles as requested
>head back up towards Eintei
>keep an eye out for muggerbuckets

>"No problem," says Nazrin. "It'll be good for our image, anyways."
>You leave the manacle and depart.
>You make head to the entrance of town and make your way back up to the surface. Eirin wordlessly takes your arm again as the two of you cross the bridge, while your lupine companion trots along behind you.
>Along the way, you notice Kisume lurking up in the shadows of the cavern ceiling. She seems to think better of trying to attack two people at once and leaves you be.
>Soon, you return to the surface. Thankfully, your Pair of Dark Glasses makes it easy to readjust to the light. Shortly, you return to the road, and begin the trek back to Eientei, when you begin to get an uneasy feeling.
>"Is something the matter?" Eirin asks.

>Forget spell cards, consider casting magic missile with the purple gem.

>You feel a desire to try out your new gem. They worked last time.

>"That's all I see now, too; but when I distort the light, I can perceive it's true form. Is it okay with you if I mess with the light so I can see it?"
>If she doesn't mind, do so.

>"Please," says Eirin, as she takes a step back.
>You remove your Pair of Dark Glasses, and concentrate on distorting the light. The trees turn purple and the snow green as you ticker with how the light flows, until the Apparition comes into focus.
>It has changed, or rather there is more of it now. Before it was only a fragment of a face and a free-floating hand. Now you can perceive of its face, making out a hard line of a mouth as well as its chin, and part of what looks like hair near the top of its head. It jaw looks like it is separate from the its skull, as though the cleft of the jaw bone continued through to its spectral "flesh". A thin neck leads down to part of its chest, or perhaps some sort of hauberk. You can see an arm extending from the right side, a thin straight limb that seems almost emanciated. The arm terminates midway, then resumes at near the lower arm, ending in a hand. Another hand floats freely on the side. A foot can be see, extending from a narrow leg that emerges from the air; the foot looking like it is covered in some articulate boot. It seems to be miming a walk.
>The Apparition is much larger than your estimated it was beforehand, now that you can see more of it; it easily "stands" twice your height. It looks...artificial. That is the only way you can describe it. Not like a living creature, but rather like some approximation of one made worked materials. It approaches, walking quickly, its hands stretched toward you.
>Eirin is silent, but looks a bit concerned.

>It takes you a moment to set this up, and a good deal of concentration. But you think that you do it correctly, making an image of the blue gem hurtling at it. It does indeed try to grab for it, the motion faster than you anticipated.

>What doesn't make sense is it looking artificial.

>You ponder these aspects, as well. It could be something from Hakugyokurou, but it doesn't seem like anything you've experienced from there in your brief visits.

>You ask Eirin for her thoughts. "I don't know, Udonge," she says, "But I do not like the looks of it, not does it reassure me of its good intentions."
>You draw upon the Purple Gem and let it attack. A line of speedy bullets, the general spherical type, fly from it and strike the Apparition in its chest. It recoils, then dodges out of the way of the stream.

>You shift focus to trying to ward it off, adding the blue gem's lasers to the mix. The Apparition stops for a moment, then starts weaving between the two streams of attacks.
>"I'll need room," Eirin says, "But I don't think I'll be leaving you." With that, she takes to the air and begins setting up an attack; danmaku starting to swirl around her.
