>Oh yeah, also, make sure to dodge in the situations where we ARE in the mouths line of fire.

>This would explain why it was exposing such a gap in its defenses toward you!
>You try to keep out of its line of fire again, ducking aside as it tries to snap its mandibles shut on you, and bring the the Blue Gem into play once again. The jewel fires a beam of blue light at the Oni Eater, connecting with its armored back and drawing a loud screech from it as it skitters away.
>You're starting to feel a bit dizzy, but you make it a point to stay away from its mouth.

>You think you can fly a bit faster, but you've not exactly raced, nor are you sure you have dealt with it's top speed.
>You've been hovering. But you aren't certainly how well you'll be able to fly if this dizziness gets worse.
>Unfortunately, all of your spellcards are pretty concentration heavy in one sense or another. All of them limit your motion significantly; a few require you to hold still while concentrating, which would be suicidal.

>You have no way to summon any backup. On the bright side, it's a good thing you didn't bring Youmu; adding those swords to the things it's already thrown at you would be bad.
>You do not feel that either of the gems has scanning capacity. But the Oni Eater's face is fairly bloody, its got a few burns on its carapace, and one very nasty and bloody wound where the Blue Gem's beam just hit it. It also has several oozing wounds from where your danmaku has gotten it. You aren't sure how much it has left to give, but it is most certainly hurt.

>Continue attacking with the Gems and danmaku

>You keep up the barrage as well as possible. Now that the Oni Eater is moderately close, you can unleash the full might of the Red Gem upon it, keeping it at bay with gouts of flame. The Blue Gem's beams cut through its carapace with little difficulty, quickly opening several new deep wounds on it and giving you new places to target with your danmaku. It seems to be unable to concentrate much up affecting the metal with the pressure you are putting on it.
>The only downside is that your head is still swimming. You're going to have to end this quickly, before it can try to hit you with more of that white liquid.

>You direct the Blue Gem to attack the Oni Eater's head, trying to stride its mandibles or catch it in the head. At the same time, you move the Red Gem to burn the open wounds on its body. At first, it tries to surge ahead toward you, until the Gem's Beams catch it in the head, burning into the carapace quickly and  drawing blood, while the Red Gem sets to work. It screeches, and fails a little, then falls to the ground.

>You do not get too close to it. You wouldn't want to, anyways.

>Try to burn the cilia off, just in case. Is this too cruel? :ohdear:

>You consider burning off its cilia. You suspect that these probably serve a lot of sensory functions for the monster. Given how well it could dodge fireballs, you expect it could at least "see" heat, rather like a pit viper. So the question is whether or not blinding it is a cruel.

>As cool as bringing it back would be, it is impractical. Mercy Kill.

>You ponder the implications of letting the Oni Eater live. At worst, it would wake up and attack you again. At best, you can't imagine that it would stop being a terror of the Underground. You really aren't sure of it's an innocent beast or something malevolent, but you are fairly sure it would probably finish you off if it could catch you off guard again. For a brief moment, you ponder ponder trying to take it to Eirin, but you imagine the thing weighs several tons, and it waking up would be much more hazardous than the monkey spider waking up on you.
>In the end, you decide to rid the world of the Oni Eater. You position the Blue Gem where you think its brain might be, and let it release a beam. It takes a few moments to burn through its head, but the job is completed and the monster dies with a final shudder. You don't think its last moments were too painful, at least.

>Oh well, ask Satori to train this one too maybe.  :V

>Take some metallic stuff as terrible souvenir.

>You claim a nearby Oni Manacle. Given that Oni seem to wear these all the time; even Yuugi had them on when all she had on was that bathrobe; it feels a little like disturbing the remains of the dead. Perhaps it will serve as proof that you were here?

> Gather your wits and remind yourself where you're at.

>You try to shake off the latest dizzy spell, and look around.
>You are in an immense and vaguely rectangular chamber easily dozens of yards to a side. A numerous sets of manacles from deceased oni litter the floor. You can see several exits from here. You came in through the southeast, and can see others to the north, east, and west. If you are not mistaken, you think the east exit should connect to the vaulted chamber, where you saw the first discarded manacle. Obvious exits are Southeast, East, West and North.
