It's cool that it got noticed on the news, but I think the reporter guy totally knew what the video was about, despite the fact that he called the stop-motion video the "making of" thing, he just danced around the issue since he said it was #1 in Japan for a while, but he didn't say WHERE it was #1. Not entirely sure what he was afraid of, but w/e.

And yeah Youtube, /jp/ reactions are hilarious.

Kinda like around the world in 80secs. b/c the entire world's new can be fit into 80 seconds.

I think I've lost whatever faith I had left in modern news media.

I don't mind so much that they didn't say it was Touhou, as I'm not concerned with the current or future state of the Touhou fanbase. But the way they handled this "story" was too atrocious to ignore. It saddens me that those in charge of giving information to the public (i.e. the media in general) don't even know enough of what they're talking about (or seemingly even want to learn enough about it) to live up to their supposed mantra of pursuing "accuracy".

Touhou has evolved past being just the shmup though.

Seriously though, the fan-made content for Touhou is already so large though, that either way you have oodles of Touhou goodies you like, and dislike. Being more popular really wont change a thing, not to mention it most likely wont be more popular anyway.

I chuckled at this and then jokingly told the people I know online that "TOUHOU IS TAKING OVER".

Though to be honest I really doubt there will be much of a noticeable increase in fans or what not over this. I had my little chuckle over this and will forget about it in the next couple of hours.
