>"Really? I had an idea as well... who do you think it is?"

>"Most of them think it's Reimu," says Ichirin. "But I'm convinced it's the Moriya Shrine. I mean, they've tried once before, haven't they? And they have the most to gain. And wasn't Sanae chasing after the UFOs too, when we were trying to rescue Hijiri? It just makes sense, if you ask me."

>You take the time to ponder things out a bit as you and Ichirin fall into silence.
>If Ichirin spends a lot of time here and underground, and has seen no UFOs, chances are they do not go that way. Presuming she is being honest.
>From what you recall, Keine said she saw one heading northwest, presumably in relation to town. Tenshi mentioned the one she found was heading toward town, on the day the incident was sparked. Rumia apparently found one north of town, and traded it to Patchouli, who traded it to Rinnosuke, who sold it to a rabbit some weeks ago. Mokou claimed not to know anything about them, which suggests she hasn't seen them around the Bamboo Forest. As far as the culprit goes, no one seems to know, but everyone has a theory. Sadly, you really don't have any way to distinguish who is lying.

>You share this information with Ichirin. She frowns. "It still has to be the Moriyas. Um. Huh...well...I guess you did better than I did looking around. I'm not much of a detective... So, well, I suppose the best thing to do would be to try to chase them?"

>Also tell her our suspicion about that strange rabbit. The fact that she bought the UFO from Rinnosuke really links her to this.

>"I'd like to think we're friends with you guys," says Ichirin. "Murasa did get to visit with your princess, after all. Maybe she got one of your rabbits angry over something?"
>Pondering this, you don't remember any real problems when Murasa came to Eientei, back in the fall. She was a fine guest. But you also didn't watch her every movement, and some people can be petty, you suppose.

>"Alright," says Ichirin. "I'll be learning from the faeries in the meantime."
>You depart the Ice City. Thankfully, the faeries seem to be mostly too busy being involved in a loud game of aerial tag to do much to bother you.
>You return to the northern lake shore. Before you is a vast expanse of ice with a dusting of snow atop it, it is a little difficult to tell the bank from the lake itself. There is a hole in the ice that you made a couple hours ago. Far to the south, past the lake, you can see Scarlet Devil Mansion. Worn paths spit off from the road as it dead-ends at the lake shore, heading east and west. On the western side of the lake, you can see the spires of the Ice City. Obvious exits are North, East, and West.

>You make your way toward Hakugyokurou, retracing your steps from the Scarlet Weather incident. You travel through the Forest of Magic, heading north from the latter toward human town. You see that wolf has moved on from the lakeshore to sniffing about the S-bend in the road where Letty had passed out. You pass through human town, noting that school has ended early, and there are a few children playing in the streets. With your Pair of Dark Glasses in place, they do not go out of their way to avoid you You feel much less out of place than usual. You continue northward, past Shou's Clothes and the Byakuren's Tent, and leave behind the town entirely. You pass by empty farm fields, and into the northern plains where few people live, then past the Lily Hill where Medicine lingers. At the right spot, you turn east and head for the mountains. Following them for a short distance, you find a small pass, thankfully shielded from the snow by the mountains, and head into it. Following it for nearly a mile, you come to a small valley where four columns stretch upwards toward the heavens. You walk between the columns, and find a stairway leading upwards into the mountains.
>You feel a sort of electric tingle run over your skin as you start up the stairs. It is dark within the shadow of the mountain, and it grows darker still as you ascend the stairs. Soon, the sides of the mountain give way to a rolling field. Above, the sky is full of dark clouds, so gray as to be almost black. Despite the darkness, you can see rather well here. Barren, leafless trees are everywhere, so many that you'd get lost among them as easily as most would in the bamboo forest. Snow is piled thickly everywhere save for the stairway, easily thick enough to reach past your knees. The air is especially chilly here; you can feel it seeping through your clothes. Ghosts fly about everywhere, attending to their spectral business. Up ahead, you can see the outer walls of the palace of the dead. Obvious exits are north, south, east, and west.

>You pause on the stairs, shivering in the chill winds, and make certain that you understand the situation.
>Remilia wishes for you to steal something precious from Yuyuko's household, claiming it is the only way to even the balance between the two of them. Then she will ransom it back in exchange for a settle between their houses, and reward you.
>You have considered two options thus far. First there is doing exactly what Remilia asks. She claims she will keep you protected. You don't know the value of her word, but powerful beings tend to treasure it highly. At least, all the ones that you know do. Save for some humans. You've also considered consorting with Yuyuko and making Remilia think that you did it. Which means that you would have to fool Remilia, as would Yuyuko and Youmu.

>Stealing it sounds more exciting then making Yuyuko and Youmu play along (Esp. since it'll go BAD if they mess up, and Youmu isn't known for brains). Plus, then maybe we can get more out of Youmu's sword  :V
>Although, making Yuyuko and Youmu play along is so much more conniving. Its like, being a double-agent.
