No problem, be glad to help you out anytime...

...In fact, if you haven't already gotten around to doing stuff like:
1.The various commentaries and judges.
2.Orin and Okuu
3.Satori and Koishi
4.Kanako and Suwako

I'll be glad to do them.
It's just that I think I'll take a bit loger for Kanako and Suwako since they have lots of Studio Ghibli references.
Otherwise, I'm free for the rest of today and many parts of tomorrow so during that time I can translate all you guys want.

Oh, wow. Awesome.

Right now our current schedule has:

1. Upload Nitori's commercial.
2. Proofread Suika/Yuugi, upload.
3. Proofread Satori/Koishi, Subtitle, Upload.

So right now we're missing:

1. Mokou/Keine
2. Kanako/Suwako
3. Satori/Okuu
4. Koishi/Orin
5. Orin/Okuu
6. Judgements and commentaries
7. Opening
8. Ending Theme
Edit: 9. Extras

We're definitely going to get around to all of the skits eventually, but your work really helps us along.

The Opening is pretty important for the sake of plot coherence (something about the grand prize being land on the moon?) and then the skits are the rest of the material we're concerned about, but getting the judgements to complete the whole DVD would be epic.

Honestly, do whatever you find the most entertaining, we'll be sure to let you know if we pick up anything new ourselves so we don't overlap.

Edit: There's also the extra material on the DVD.

Oh cool! I mean, Mokou and Keine are good for taking?
Then would it be good if I call dibs on Mokou and Keine,
as well as the commentaries (Opening, extras, judges... etc.) for now?

I'll get around to translating some stuff after I slack a bit more.  :D

Just now!  8) (Man I wish there was a Wakamoto, or at least Barbatos Emoticon. lol)
I finished the translation for Mokou and Keine.
Ware Pheonix

Like the last one I did, I didn't bother checking it over much, so I hope the editing is not too hard.
Otherwise I'm done for today. -Or so I think.
Tell me if you need to know anything about anything that I may have missed out on or need clarification on.

Oh yeah I did some research and I roughly found out that the prize is land on the moon, but what makes it confusing is the fact that the unit "石" (read "goku") is area equivilent to sustaining one grown man per year.(In terms of rice yield) So the prize is area "enough to sustain" 1000000 people.
Apparently, according to yahoo answers, this is the equivalent of 576000000000dollars (U.S.)
...So area that equals up to that much on the moon?
Can anyone tell me the price rate per kms sqr on the moon? XD

It's all good! You explained everything nicely, and if you missed a reference chances are the Chinese subs picked up on it and Tewi can help with that. Thanks again!

Not a problem, tell me if u need anything.
I'll move on to doing judges and commentaries maybe tomorrow, since I'm guessing those will go alot faster than the manzais. Anywhere you'd like me to start? ;)

Hmmm, there's a few parts I can't hear properly in the Opening...
You possibly know who Eirin says she's able to understand now?
Since she says something like "Now I know how it feels to be like ..."
But I'm having troubles hearing the last part... Kaguya? Yukari? Nazrin?
Any ideas?

I don't hear a Kaguya, Yukari or Nazrin. There's a TLnote at this particular scene in Chinese referring to the previous M-1.

During the 3rd M-1, Keine was out MCing/Announcing from an area where the 'Loser's Bracket' had just taken place- she was surrounded by the losers of Touhou, mostly the wimpy stage 1/2 and literature-only characters (as seen here- Nazrin, the Three Mischievous Fairies, etc) and was visibly annoyed by it to the point where she ended up attacking several audience members. Eirin ends up doing the same. The winner of that 'loser bracket' go to join the contest as the 5th pairing- last year it was MikoMiko Spark, this year it seems to be Koishi/Orin.

The same thing is probably happening in this part, but to see how it went last year for reference, here's the link.

Edit: It's around 2:40ish, for clarification.

I REALLY should've said something about it after you subbed the first Miko-Miko Spark routine, but don't think you needed to write "ze" every time Marisa said it. I mean, it should be obvious to hear, and it just looks out of place in the subs. Otherwise, you did a really good job.

I thought I would finish this (the OP) by today, but it looks like I can't.
... If it wasn't for my reading week ending so soon  OTL
I'll see if I could gather up the stuff I was able to finish any time this week
-and if not, I'll still pitch in help during the weekends and stuff.
(Plus, I come to the board every so often so tell me if there's anything additional that I could do!)
Also, count me in for any future translation projects and stuff if there is any!

...Now I must study a bit so that I don't get massacred by my midterms.  :D

Many manymanymany countless thanks to Sabino for pitching in two scripts (including this one!) over the weekend, all with minimal errors. Far faster than we've ever been able to do this. :*

I'm glad it looks like everything turned out OK.
Since I'm a bit busier than I was during reading week, furthur translations will be a bit slow...
Sorry for the wait...
On another note, the OP translation is roughly 45% done, so maybe I'd be able to post tomorrow for it.
But it's questionable since Rinnosuke just had to use difficult words! *Cringe*
I'm planning to do Kanako and Suwako next if that hasn't been touched upon yet, and it'd probably be about in a week that I might get around to doing it.
(Or, since I failed Calc. I might end up having more time after all? Maybe?)

Apologies for lateness!

M-1 OP translations are finished!
for the OPs and stuff, since there are many characters, I decided not to put colors.
But this time I arranged the parts in a different way, hope it helps.
Also, since I'm thinking on a snowy... I mean foggy head, I can't remember all the references to the previous M-1. So, also sorry about that.

Well here's the link! 8)
4th M-1 OP

P.S. As it says in the doc, look to the previous posts on this thread for info about prize and stuff.

As always, ask anything if there is anything unclear or I missed something. ;)

... and if in any case that the watcher of this has not viewed the Ghibli movies mentioned in here, I strongly suggest you watch them. ...except for maybe Ponyo...

I guess next week I'll be aming towards doing some of the judges I guess.

P.S.I just noticed that Remilia's fake birthday was the same day as my birthday... Yay! :D

Moriya Kero is finally done! That took a lot longer than I expected, it's massive with a lot of song lyrics. (And yes I'm missing -one- line ah well)

And yes, Tewi's still working on Satori/Koishi. School's just the priority for her at the moment and I feel bad whenever I ask her about this stuff.  :V

Hmm, I don't notice the line missing... but it looks ok XD

I can pitch in help for Satori/Koishi if its needed, so feel free to give me a shout.
Oh and has anything been decided for the other stuff, like Satori/Okuu, Orin/Koishi or Orin/Okuu?
Since I'd rather that the main parts get sorted out first, before I go on doing other stuff... which I hope to get started on tomorrow night.

Oh and this is something that's a bit off from the topic, but a while ago I was hoping if I could english-sub videos on nicovideo (Like hand drawn touhou stuff) and now that I actually am in a translation project, I was wondering if you guys have the time and patience to add in a small section of translating random videos on nico video that I or any of you guys found amusing.
(Stuff like this for example...
Tell me what you guys think about the idea.

We'll still take care of the Komeiji Sister's skit, but Orin/Okuu, Koishi/Okuu and Satori/Okuu are free. Take whatever you want.

For the other videos: if you can provide the translation, I can probably figure out a way to subtitle it. I'd be glad to. Very few of those random animations ever see the light of day in the Western community.

Edit: Also, do you happen to know what in the world the symbol on the anonymous person's faces means?

By 'anonymous persons' I mean the guys in, say, the introduction, that Eirin shot with arrows. They show up all the time.

It's Sin alright.

Those are random characters called "Tsumi bukuro" (Meaning Sin bags) which were randomly made by Japanese consumers.-First seen in Yukarin Fantasia.

Those guys are pretty much the depiction of extreme touhou nerds, and will follow their loved ones (Yukari, Eirin, Yuuka...etc.) till the ends of existence.
...
In a way you could sort of say they're the Prinneys to Etna (via Disgaia), except they're not employed.
