notes:
- I prefer the following way of playing games: Single player alone
- My attitude to videogame stories is: Stories can help me enjoy a videogame (I'm not one to ignore a game because its story happens to be an excuse plot, or else I wouldn't play most shmups :p)
- If you know your Myers-Briggs Type, please select it here: ISTJ (or so I think)
- Exploring to see what you can find: I like it. (extensive experimenting of the game's possibilities gets tiresome at times)
- Frantically escaping from a terrifying foe: I love it! (action games/shmups can provide such an experience)
- Working out how to crack a challenging puzzle: I love it! (I enjoy the mental exercise)
- The struggle to defeat a difficult boss: I love it! (of course, if the game's well designed enough)
- Playing in a group, online or in the same room: I like it. (if it explicitely stated that this group consists only of people I know IRL, or from the internet only, I'd say I like it more, except when some people don't put enough effort, thus putting mine into waste and allowing the other teams/players to tease *me*)
- Responding quickly to an exciting situation: I love it! (I enjoy being focused into something that's fun, and intense challenges are rewarding. Some examples: Varth's intensity, Raiden Fighters Jet's hecticness, Dodonpachi's Max Bombs' time-based bonus)
- Picking up every single collectible in an area: I like it. (I immediately thought of the Bee Items in Dodonpachi, didn't enjoy trying to collect them all. So, the answer depends on which game I'm playing.)
- Looking around just to enjoy the scenery: I love it! (I do that in real life, sometimes. This makes me feel more alive, but there are no examples in games where I remember myself doing that)
- Being in control at high speed: I love it! (same answer from 3 questions above)
- Devising a promising strategy when deciding what to try next: I love it! (I like to exercise my mind and concentrate on things that are fun, I would find myself thinking about what to do in games that I've played and/or would play again)
- Feeling relief when you escape to a safe area: I like it.
- Taking on a strong opponent when playing against a human player in a versus match: I love it!
- Talking with other players, online or in the same room: I like it.
- Finding what you need to complete a collection: I like it. (there are lots of games where you should focus on developing the few things that you're going to use the most -- PatchCon and WarCraft III comes to mind)
- Hanging from a high ledge: I like it. (I can't think of/remember any interesting examples in shmups/action games, or 3D games)
- Wondering what's behind a locked door: I like it. (I don't see myself bothering much about it, because once I've properly memorized what's hidden after it, that expectation will vanish, entirely. Exploring how to play the game in more efficient ways feel more fun than wondering about what's behind locked doors, imho)
- Feeling scared, terrified or disturbed: I like it (not in term of horror-themed games, but in term of stress due to challenges)
- Working out what to do on your own: I love it! (however, there are other, more entertaining ways to exercise myself and have fun with, and I take no shame from saving time through walkthroughs/tutorials/videos if I feel that a certain puzzle is going to keep me from playing other games)
- Completing a punishing challenge after failing many times: I love it! (it feels very rewarding to evolve to a point where you can get past that challenge, with increasing consistency)
- Co-operating with strangers: I like it. (except when some of the team members screw up and/or don't put enough effort, thus wasting mine's and allowing the other teams/players to tease *me*

)
- Getting 100% (completing everything in a game): I like it. (I don't necessarily associate that factor with how well someone plays a specific game, especially when it's not too difficult to get that 100%, and when there are other -- better -- ways, such as scoring, for example)
- 7 (best): A moment of hard-fought victory.
- 6: A moment of breathtaking speed or vertigo.
- 5: A moment of jaw-dropping wonder or beauty. (that can come from stages, bgm.. the storytelling can make particular boss fights more beautiful)
- 4: The moment when the solution to a difficult puzzle clicks in your mind.
- 3: A moment of completeness that you have strived for.
- 2: A moment when you feel an intense sense of unity with another player. (overcoming difficult challenges in single-player/1vs1 games > exercising your mind for teamplay, both to assist your team and to sabotage the opposing teams, imho, because the former is more difficult, and more rewarding.)
- 1 (worst): An experience of primeval terror that blows your mind. (can't remember any example)
