Labyrinth of Touhou Error!
« on: December 21, 2009, 10:45:41 PM »
I'm sorry to bother you guys but I'm having problems with this game. You see, once I try to run the game.. it works... until I try to start or load a new game. I get an error window that says the following:

Debug Assesrtion Failed!

Program:
...Local\Temp\Rar$EX29.43861\thLabyrinth_ver2.04\thLabyrinth.exe
File: f:\dd\vctools\ctr_bld\self_x86\crt\src\fgetc.c
Line 41

Expression: (stream != NULL)

I have no idea what this means or what to do to fix this. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Sweetness and love~ ♥

Where is your thLabyrinth.exe file located? From what I see, I think you might be trying to run it from within a .rar archive.

It's located in the labyrinth of touhou folder, from there... I access the exe file.

Not from how your error reads.  You need to EXTRACT the Touhou Labyrinth files.

Especially considering that in order to make it work right you have to extra 3 parts, move plus disk files into the other folder,  move in the patch, and then move in and run the english patch.

I am having the same error message, but it doesn't come until I actually have to save a game. I can go in the dungeon, just can't save anything I did. Also when I fight anything, I hit them for +88581234 hp each time and my stats are minus that number. I extracted the main Touhou Labyrinth file into its own folder and then brought the other .rars into that folder and extracted them there. What would it be that I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure you upgraded to Plus Disk properly. All the files in there must be copied.

I'm having a different problem with TL. I can play it fine and all but in the opening cutscene, once the screen goes white, it just...stays there. Nothing happens. :c

Press Z to advance the game.

It's stupid, I know.

As for myself, the game will sometimes suddenly decide that random button x is being held down constantly.  The last time this happened, it failed to fix itself after a game restart or a reinstallation, but fixed itself after a computer reboot.  This time, it won't even fix itself after a reboot.  It's not a hardware problem, because no other program registers z as being constantly held down, and the problem persists after unplugging the keyboard/gamepad.  I had the problem 10 minutes ago, wrote up this post once, then it randomly fixed itself, then it popped up again and I've had to rewrite this post.  And sure enough, I check it again after writing this post a second time, and it's fixed itself.  Whatever, I'm going to leave this post here anyway.

Whether you're on Easy or you're a Lunatic, be damn proud of your accomplishments.  Don't let anyone convince you otherwise, for it's when you lose faith in your own achievements that those victories become defeats.
