Original: My Favorite Things (recording) Comments: For those not familiar with the song, it's originally from the musical The Sound of Music, and while not technically a Christmas song it's gained some degree of association with the holiday season due to containing a lot of winter imagery. Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of my favorite things Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels Door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings These are a few of my favorite things Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes Silver white winters that melt into Springs These are a few of my favorite things When the dog bites When the bee stings When I'm feeling sad I simply remember my favorite things And then I don't feel so bad (Repeat all 1x) Rewrite: My Least Favorite Cards (recording, also attached) Comments: Despite the implications of the title/lyrics, the cards were chosen not really for difficulty (though I did try to stick with stages 5/6/EX) or personal dislike (even if you don't consider Easy/Normal and Hard/Lunatic name differences, the only EX I even have unlocked in the first place is IN), but just for at least vaguely proper scansion and rhyme and having fun with names. Original: Sailor Moon Christmas (recording) You're getting a link for these lyrics because I had them all done up as a nice table in BBCode like for my rewrite below but apparently I deleted the text file, and damned if I'm doing that over. Rewrite: Gensokyo Christmas Party (recording, also attached though at 192 kbps instead of 320 due to attachment size limits) Comments: lol this song sounds so miserably dated. Probably did even when it was new. But I had a few lyric ideas and I ran with it, especially since I figured no one else would do this one. But anyway, I decided to keep the general feel of setting up for a Christmas party and mostly being a series of holiday imagery. Touhou character substitutions were done to fit lyrics as I came up with them rather than to match the original characters. Here's a sung version of rdj522's We Three Kings Queens awesome lyric rewrite, so all the info needed in is his post. I dropped a few adjective/"little" words here and there and used pronouns for Reimu to fit the rhythm better, but nothing bit enough I think it warrants reposting. (and now it really shows I have zero singing training oh well :V) |
