Welp. To put it in perspective, Ghostly Eyes was the lowest-ranking theme from stages 1-6 of any Windows game. Hellfire Mantle got 3x as many votes. Iku's theme and Retrospective Kyoto got 10x as many votes. Luna Dial got 20x as many votes. Seriously, it's underrated.

As for lack of remixes...need I remind you of my two remixes ever song? :[ And I bet that song isn't even on that list.

Still, from what I could gather:
- Necro-Fantasy being 42 positions below Necrofantasia is unacceptable.
- same with Kagome-Kagome and Voyage 1969 being only the 7th and 9th most voted among IN tracks.
- stage 6 themes are an unappreciated bunch as a whole.

Based on our own poll not too long ago, I gotta throw my vote to The Road of the Apotropaic God (a song I'm guilty of forgetting about when making my list  ) but I'm probably so out of the loops I don't know what all the hip kids are into so I could be wrong

The entire tHRtP soundtrack. If you want me to narrow it down, "Now die for the debt you have accrued" and "Swordsman of a Distant Star". Despite the fact that they are amongst the best stuff from PC-98, most touhou fans don't even know they exist! I think that qualifies as underrated.

For the windows games, it is hard to tell...
Ok, based on the fact that it is apparently not in the top 40, I'll just give my windows vote to Missing Power, because it definitely should be there.


On a seperate note, Bad Apple!! is by far the most overrated PC-98 theme. Shure, it has got this incredibly popular remix that also got a really great video added to it recently, and it probably got alot of other good remixes, too, but the original is in no way outstanding, imho.

Most Underrated PC-98 Song: Visionary Game ~ Dream War. Seriously, I've found 1 arrange of this song in total, and it's so great. It depresses me at how little attention it gets.

Most Underrated Windows Song: Anything from EoSD. Romance in the Night Sky. Mostly because I can't think of anything else to put and because most people ignore this song in their deafening rage at UFO Extra.

That was a poll of some number of Jappos that had zero exposure to Touhou when asked to listen to the songs and rank them. The idea was that the audience would be totally impartial to the songs - they wouldn't be able to attach characters or bullet patterns to them - and judge them purely on musical quality.

While seeing Tohno at #1 made me seethe, it was absolutely delicious to see both Necrofantasia and Hartmann outside the Top 50. Take that, you fuckers.

Vanishing Dream ~ Lost Dream. Kana's theme fucking owns anything else in PoDD (yes, INCLUDING Strawberry Crisis) and easily ranks in my top five PC-98 songs, period.
