Screen Tearing on UFO
« on: November 22, 2009, 08:41:21 AM »
Hey there.  I was wondering if anyone here gets screen tearing on UFO when running in windowed mode.  Long story short, UFO doesn't like dual monitor setups and tends to crash when maximized to fullscreen,  so I usually play in the largest window mode possible.  The problem is that I start to get some serious screen tearing when playing.  My graphics card is a heavily overclocked Nvidia GTX 260 (216).  I notice it's screen tearing because it gets really choppy at times, but the FPS is locked at 60 and isn't backing down.  I've tried backing down to stock clocks and I still get this issue.  I've tried to force vsync on the Nvidia control panel and still get nothing.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

EDIT:  I've browsed around and noticed that there's a vsync patch, but the impression that I'm getting is that it's EOSD specific.

Nope. The version that was popularized on the forum had all the way up to SA on it.

Thanks I'll give it a shot.  I don't know if any of you people use this, but Rivatuner from Guru3D has some tools that force VSync and triple buffering on any application, and they work really well with touhou games as well.  I've noticed that triple buffering seems to help for some reason, but the vsync will lead to slight input lag, which is a real big no-no.
