In the fighters, Patchouli all-around.

In the shmups, I'm not really sure. None of them scream out at me in particular, but as opposed to his artwork ZUNsprites are extremely well-done, and there are so many details involving them (Windows games) that I didn't notice until seeing the sprite sheets themselves. I don't know, I'll have to come back to that one.

Or I could just stick with Fighterchouli, but that'd be boring. :V

Damn...this is a 4-way tie between Utsuho for badassery, Suwako for her awesome Wackiness, Iku for 'el fevre', and Suika for Drunken Fist.

In the end I'm going with Utsuho though. Goddamn she's so epic in UNL.

For shooters, I'll have to go with UFO Sanae just for the "sing my praises~" hands she has.

For the fighters, it's a tie between this and this. I can't decide. D:

Honorable mentions go to Alice for the surprisingly cool twirl she does in UNL after the AH HA HA face and Suika swaying back and forth...back and forth...back and-

Mokou's sprite in IN. Easy.

As for the fighting games... I don't play them, so I can't really say I've appreciated the sprites enough to care, but so far, Utsuho is top tier.

I'm rather fond of Alice's spelltrance declare animation in IaMP, magic circle included.

Okay, final answers: Tenshi's sitting pose, Alice's IaMP spelltrance declaration, and Patchouli's UNL Royal Flare animation (which approaches god tier if Okuu uses Abyss Nova when next to her)

For the fighters, tough choice,. I'd have to say basically anything Suwako does. She just looks like she's having so much fun fighting, no matter how the battle's going.
HM to Alice's little ballerina-spin and Tenshi's sit-on-a-rock-and-kick-you-in-the-face animation :V

For the shooters, the PoFV sprites, all of them are absolutely gorgeous. If I had to pick one character for best sprites...I'll go with Sakuya. Although, Medicine has the best sprite.

This includes a bunch of nameless PC-98 people, Daiyousei, Koakuma, Lily White, Tewi, Shizuha, Momizi(knew I was missing someone), and Kisume (and technically Cat!Rin and Orb!Nue).

I'm going to go with Kisume, if only because of the statement "SILENCE, BUCKET GIRL!"
