Actually, it's more than just that, but I don't feel like getting into the melee system of Crawl, the specified part about animals, hit chances, and the RNG. Just know it's more complicated than that.

Round 39:
Roxanne lost. We'll just blame her inability to move and the now limited range on spells and the fact that she can't heal and the fact that Frances and Francis are cowards (or know how to play it safe).

Round 40:
Tentacled Monstrosity lacks defense. The zombies got octopus brain for dinner.

Round 41:
No one bet here? I'll recycled this for later then.

NEXT SET OF ROUNDS:

Round 42:
Goblin, Ufetubus, Kobold, Jackal VS White Imp and Shadow Imp
Note: So the white and shadow imps are basically a normal imp but with ice and negative magic respectively.

Round 43:
Rock Troll VS Iron Dragon Simulacrum
Note: A simulacrum is basically a step up from zombie status to a frozen statue. Because of this, they can't handle fire well. Regardless, cold steel and hard rock.

Round 44:
Deep Elf Knight VS Hell-Hog
Note: It's a pig. That breathes fire. And has wings. And it's from hell. Makes total sense. The deep elf is basically an armored elf with a sword and shield. Not nearly as fast as its superior counterpart, deep elf blademaster.
