Sweet Jesus yes!

Perfect Phantasm clear. No deaths, bombs or borders broken.

This went pretty fast after figuring out the stage portion, because to be honest, the stage is harder than Yukari.
Also got over a billion points which is pretty nice.

Haha, wow! Nice job there! I think you and Veronica are the only people who've done a perfect Phantasm clear in western Touhou fandom. I still can't get down Border of Humans and Youkai ;_;

I just pulled off a perfect PCB stage 4 lunatic.
This came out of nowhere, I was just figuring out the post midboss no longer bullshit and BAM!
I have no idea how I did this.

I even caught Lyrica's insane lolrank opener...

This was a great day for Touhou.

Just captured Mugetu's final attack in a run. Failed it in the next attempt though. I've only made it to Gengetu's Master Spark part, but I'm getting better at it.

Do all of Gengetu's attacks have timeout phases? I was milking graze for points on the easy one where you stream a bit, then she shoots an attack like Elly where you want to move instead of stand still then she pulled a timeout phase, though nowhere near as bad as the final one, for that attack. Died before that though on the attack which was a rageworthy moment.

Just wondering if I should try to milk the Master Spark part for points as well.

Any extra lives after the 30,000,000 one?

All of them have it, except for the second last phase, which acts more or less like a "bridge" into the final.

Mugetu gets them as well.

Nope.

Also, you should only need to graze the "streaming one" until you reach about 700 Graze if you're going for Max Graze. IIRC, that phase ends shortly after the Health meter drops into the purple.

I dunno, I always found Mugetu's final attack to be fairly easy. Her blue line attack kills me a ridiculous percentage of the time, for some reason, but that one not so much.

'Fraid not. Then again, LLS Extra is CRAZY generous with extra lives (SIX?!), even if you only get two bombs per life, so it's no surprise it's regarded as the easiest Extra.

EDIT: Welp. Mugetu rape time is kind of hard. ...Actually, come to think of it, it had more than a passing resemblance to Mokou's final non-card, I think... hm.

Also, it took me until I got to Mugetu that I realised I was playing without using focus. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing. :V

SoEW has none, and I'm fairly sure nobody has them in Mystic Square. I took the liberty of timing out EX Alice's last phase and there was nothing. It doesn't even get faster if you don't shoot her.

Also, I asked this a long time ago but I would pay someone if they could time pacifist Mugetu and Gengetu.

MS has nothing; it's all in LLS. Orange has an interesting one (doubles your score for Stage 1 if you do it right), Kurumi has nothing (but it gets dense quickly though; needs more analysis), and Elly has a pretty nice one. Haven't tested anything else yet (that is; Reimu, Marisa and Yuka), and I certainly plan to once I get back home.

Still working on it. I can survive around 4-5 of the timeout phases using all my resources at a time. Surviving without bomb spamming; that's a different story. I'll still give it more time (see above) though.

Yuka's final phases are already like timeout phases. The only way they could be worse is rapewalls that would put Gengetu Rape Time to shame.

A quick search shows nothing out of the ordinary. The only video I could find is the one where the guy tried to timeout "GRT" but died / bombed a few times (as is the norm) which I'm quite sure that many of you have watched.

Then there are the standard Extra clears; most being Marisa with LAZORS.

Just got done with a Marisa with LAZORS clear. Had 1 life to spare also but could have been two if I hadn't messed up. Still have a lot of practice to do on the fights though to be better at them.

That makes a total of 6 Extra/Phantasm clears.

So I read this thread earlier today and I decided that I should play EoSD with the default 3 lives instead of the max 5 that I've been using for forever now to be more conservative with lives so that I might actually 1cc EoSD normal. I start up EoSD and set the lives to 3, and start playing.

And I 1cc it. What.

Ended up with 0 lives and 0 bombs, but I 1cced it.

So now Extra Stage is unlocked and I fail miserably at it <3
(But I think I captured Philosopher's stone on my first try what?)

I don't understand you. I beat it in three tries. Then again, i did only spend 1 attempt on PCB Lunatic so maybe that's easier.

That's actually how I do it every time. I tried the circular method once, then researched the card and saw someone doing this. I never tried the circular method again (although now that I'm better, I might go back and try it someday for the lulz).
