I got bored and decided to screw around in IN's spell practice.  After ruining my 100% cap rates on Phoenix Tail and Possessed by Phoenix, I decided to go try some last words, where screwing up would be expected.

The results of that?

Deflation World: 0/0 -> 1/10

Saigyouji Flawless Nirvana: 0/6 -> 1/9

I actually squealed a little when I capped Saigyouji Flawless Nirvana :V

Here Sapz, watch this and know why I refuse to get serious about EoSD extra no deaths. I know I'm perfectly capable of it, but you see those two deaths in this? Those deaths at those two specific places are why I hate doing stuff like this, and I'll never understand how you have the patience to perfect extra stages.

Otherwise, this had me beating Flan only making two mistakes: A bomb at Catadioptric (hey Sapzmeister, tell me how to make this attack easy; it's one of the few spell cards here I can't capture consistently), and a HURRRRRRRR death on Q.E.D. For the lazy, the other death was on the last possible part of the stage where I could possibly have died.

Oh yeah, that reminds me! I'm on a mission to ruin every 100% capture I have. A few nights ago I went up to Utsuho's opener, went "YEE-HAW" and charged straight up (ironically I made it 3/4 up the screen before it hit me even then. XD), and last night I let Yukari's Spirited Away penetrate me. Once I stop being lazy I'll do the same for Shackles a Criminal Can't Remove. It'll just make it more fun, not to worry about ruining a perfect record. Otherwise I'll

Sakuya A is hardly the best shot type. To show you why, try doing a no bombs run with her. When you don't have something like 40 "get out of pattern free" cards, you see that she's actually quite mediocre.

This is the best that I was able to do Playing EoSD on Lunatic , and I'm Still amazed that I was able to make it all the way to Midboss Sakuya too.

But on a serious note, I just started playing again for the first time since October. I expected to be rusty as hell, so I decided to try something hard so I wouldn't feel bad about failing. So, I open up Stage Practice.

And so, copying Baity (and also copying his trend of copying people :V)... Reimu Solo no focus capture of Hourai Elixer Lunatic.

But wait, there's more!

ONE ATTEMPT. WHERE THE HELL DID THAT COME FROM? ...I'm tempted to call it a fluke, but it didn't really seem that bad. To be honest, I think I found the Hard version with Youmu constant shooting more difficult. :V

I didn't expect that, but it seems taking a break still works wonders at my current skill level. Maybe I'll try it with Youmu constant shooting soon. At any rate, looks like I've still got it~

EoSD Extra etc

1. Far as I can see, you're reading the waves of the death fairy wrong. You could have cleared that last wave with ease, but you for some reason dodged in the other direction which got you a blue wall in the face. :V
2. Philosopher's Stone. You capped this, but it's a lot easier if you start from shotgunning Patchy and stream it directly downward with tiny movements left or right if they're necessary.
3. The books you seem fine with, you just got unlucky, I think. :V
4. Catadioptric. You seem really hesitant and reluctant to make big movements with this card. You need to make sure you've moved left almost to the centre after the fourth wave; not doing this is what killed you. Aside from that, make sure to keep an eye out for the bullets trailing off to the sides of the main streams of bullets, but to be honest there's not much more advice I can give other than that it's partly random dodging. =x
5. lol Q.E.D.

Anyway, here's a Catadioptric timeout to demonstrate the way you should be moving all the time with this card. Ignore all the loldeaths, I'm still kind of rusty from my break.

Progress with Hourai Elixer Lunatic no focus constant shooting Youmu Solo - 6 seconds remaining. Pretty confident I can manage this. :V

Further progress: 2 seconds remaining. I actually made it through the big clusterfuck of circles and managed to die on an easier bit afterwards. Ah well.

Finally got my ReimuB clear of PCB Easy again. Which means it's right back to just needing SakuyaB.

S1: Sucks.
S2: Three bombs on the stage is a free pass, and there's more than enough power.  Hina is tricky only for Old Lady Ohgane's Fire and Exiled Doll.
S3: Memorize where to go on Trauma, it's stupid and static.
S4: ...you mean the streaming part...?
S5: Another stage completely cheeseable with...yeah, three bombs or so.  Nice capping the midboss opener, though, I hate that attack.

To this day I still prefer to laz0r my way through any game that has Marisa with lasers, even when I've also spent a decent amount of time with christmas tree Marisa. =V

Yes, I got unlucky. "luck" being the operative word. I'm not complaining that the stage is more random than the average extra stage, but when you have a 10 minute stage being thrown hard waves like that at the end of a stage full of places to screw up, preceding the actual boss, just tries my patience like you wouldn't believe.

...So after the fourth wave is fired, move from the right? Okay, I'll try to remember this.

I usually handle Philosopher's Stone much better. I was ready to restart and was surprised when I captured it.

And yes, I suck at Scarlety, I know. -_- Hardest death fairy IMO.

Master Spark is a crutch. Once you get good enough to beat every spell card with only one bomb, you'll realize Marisa B has nothing over Marisa A. This is coming from someone who had their first lunatic 1cc with Marisa B.

Its because ReimuB is absolutely awesome. SakuyaA is just a broken character with a crapload of bombs.

I use laser Marisa in MoF and laser Marisa in SA (Marisa/Alice, though that version doesn't pierce). Neither of those have the Spark.

I don't use the shot type for the bomb, I use it for the lasers.

So I went and tried Flandre.  I cleared her, for only my third time.  I think I captured Silent Selene, Philosopher's Stone (LOLSCREWINGUPROYALFLARE), and Flandre's first four.  I almost ran the maze, for once, but screwed it up as usual.  Ended up clearing 0/2.

I've been trying to capture Hourai Elixir (just Normal because I suck) for about a week now, with no luck. After about 15 attempts today I gave up, then just for the heck of it I tried it on hard. After two stupid deaths during the first wave because I wasn't paying attention... I captured it on the next try, complete with my heart beating unnaturally fast and being unable to type for five minutes afterward because of my hands shaking. Apparently I do better on higher difficulties.
