Reconfiguring T98-NEXT controls

I use a gamepad for Touhou and I recently tried out this emulator and liked it more than Anex, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change the controls. Google has utterly failed me as well. Any help?

I tried it, but configuring it with my usual settings ends up making my shot and bomb buttons do the same thing with the added effect of making my movement slow to a crawl.   :( Anyone know how to make sense of the key.nhw settings?
