Really weird drop in FPS while recording.
« on: September 13, 2009, 04:04:34 PM »
I used to be able to record just fine, constant 60 fps and the results were amazing. But now when I record I just get fps drops to ~20 and it looks so slow resulting in a bad video. It seems whenever something special happens (Boss summons, or many bullets are spawned) that it just drops so low. And it's not a high treshold either, pretty much every spell card drops in fps.

Anyone have an idea for stuff I could check that might increase fps? Fraps is correct at 60 fps recording. The only thing I did special the last couple of days was download UFO but that can't be it.

edit: Wow it even drops to 20 when I am simply in the menu and move up and down to select Mode.

Check in your Task Manager to see if you have any weird programs taking up your CPU.  Also, if you had good performance with Fraps before, check if you have the same record and compression settings that you used then.  Higher compression settings will take up a lot more CPU useage, depending on the codec used.

I have check those things and they are fine. It is really weird this issue. I tried recording again and the first 2 replays had fps drops, then the 3rd didn't. Im totally clueless to what's going on :S
