I dunno, that sounds kind of like "Look, I'm being generous by not withholding your own research from you." If anything, that logic only makes sense from the other direction; it wouldn't have been unreasonable to not tell Patchouli about it, but not telling Alice would practically be going back on our word with her future self. She'll probably just be offended.
We probably can't directly convince Alice of Sharing Is Caring, but maybe with a slightly different approach...?
